RUDY SARZO's OZZY/RANDY RHOADS Book Delayed - Sep. 7, 2005
If you placed a pre-order through Amazon.com for bassist Rudy Sarzo's (QUIET RIOT, OZZY OSBOURNE, DIO, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) book, entitled "Off The Rails - My Adventures In The Land Of Ozz" (originally due Sept. 15), you may have recently received a message that his book will not be released. This is not true. Rudy's book is simply delayed.

Commented Sarzo: "Amazon made a poor choice in wording the e-mails. I appreciate everyone's interest and support here."

No new release date has been established yet.

In an April 2005 interview with Greg Prato of Billboard.com, Sarzo stated that the book will include a first-person account from his personal day-by-day diary of events while touring with Ozzy Osbourne and Randy Rhoads in the early Eighties.

"I kept a diary, like a journal," Sarzo told Billboard.com, "And I have the details of all those [tour] dates, mainly because my accountant at the time requested that I did. I would keep records of my travels for tax purposes. There's so much misinformation about that period on the Internet. I think somebody probably grabbed an old itinerary, and just went by that as 'These are the dates.' At the time, there were a lot of cancellations and rescheduling, especially after the accident."

Regarding the accident that killed Rhoads and two others, Sarzo said, "The spookiest thing looking back at it, I got a chill when I got to [the day of the accident] March 19th [in the journal and] it's missing. It was like, 'Wow.' Having to go back in my head and walk down those corridors, because a lot of this stuff, it still is hard to talk about it, because people ask me about [it]. Every time I tell the account of what happened that day, I have to relive it. And it's so hard. That's one of the reasons why I wrote it, so I don't have to talk about it anymore, you know what I mean? If you really want to know what happened, just read that chapter, if anything."

Sharon and her eggs, Jack's drug abuse, Kellly's 38 inch waist, etc... Having said that, I'll probably buy this book because OZZY, did indeed, rule the Earth at one time.

I hope that Bus Driver is rotting in hell.....he killed Randy Rhoads and Rachel the hairdresser because of his coke fueled stupidity...and robbed us of one of the greatest guitar players to ever live. Damn shame.

Randy in two albums accomplished more then half of their guitar players did their whole career..........

Randy was heavily thinking about doing classical music soon at the time of his death..........

Also, when Randy was with quiet riot they sounded a lot different.......

Not saying he would be known just for his time in quiet riot, but if you havnt listned to it, dont knock it, if you have, then go right ahead..........

You might as well knock rudy sarzo too for being in quiet riot........

I think you need to listen to the first two ozzy albums and the randy tribute again my friend.......

He is so much more emotion filled then steve vai, he could tear up roy z, he played sabbath songs better then Iommi(in my opinion), He has written more influencial music then half of those mutherfuckers.........

Almost all great players.......

but randy definately deserves as much credit as atleast half of em.......

you may think you know your guitar players and you listed some great ones, but to dismiss Randy's talent is just plain stupid. You obviously don't know anything about Randy or took the time to really listen, but he definitely deserves to go down as one of the BEST!!

Randy Rhoads RIP (1956-1982)

randy had two studio albums and one live album(wich was not all that good).to say he was great is premature, givin more time maybe, but up to the time he died he was average at best, and if he wasnt with ozzy he would not even be thought of.let alone thought of as great. face the truth.

Although many guitar players can mimic Randy's technique, no one can deliver the emotion of his music. I get chills everytime I I hear him play. And he was only in his early 20's with this level of talent. What a great loss.
