HENDRIX Heirs File Second Lawsuit Against PURPLE HAZE RECORDS

Margo Whitmire of Billboard.com is reporting that Seattle-based Experience Hendrix filed a second suit yesterday (Sept. 12) against Purple Haze Records to stop the marketing and sales of all unauthorized Jimi Hendrix recordings through the U.K. indie label. In February, the High Court of Justice in London held Purple Haze and proprietor Lawrence Miller liable for infringing the rights of Experience Hendrix in recordings of the Jimi Hendrix Experience's 1969 Konserthuset performance in Stockholm. Unlike U.S. courts that recently held unconstitutional the federal anti-bootlegging laws — which protect performers' rights in live concert performances — the British court interpreted a 1989 law to protect Hendrix's rights in the case. I hear people complaining about Limp Bizkit, Korn and Tommy Lee news should not be at Blabbermouth.net, but what about Hendrix.. this is not metal, it's not even hard rock.

I don't care how great you think the cookie cutter Pantera band was or how much you idolized Dime, he doesn't belong in front front of Hendrix. And for christ sakes, Eddie van halen?
I am not for ranking guitarists, but these are some of the best (technicality or speed doesn't earn them a top spot necessarily) IMO:
Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Tony Iommi, B.B. King, David Gilmour, Keith Richards, Robert Fripp, Pete Townshend.
Sorry, but Dime couln't hold a candle to any of those dudes.

I'm conflicted by your post. I agree yet I strongly disagree. I get the sense that you are minimizing/marginalizing Eddie Van Halen and his impact on rock music...rock guitar in particular. If you are, then, you, sir, just might be the idiot.

dime doesnt belong on the list entirely different genre was pantera. but bb king and eric clapton are overated in my opinion.

Hendrix may not have been METAL.........but he was one of the most influencial guitarists of all time. So those ppl who don;t knw anythin pls for the love of God SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!! If it weren't for hendrix guitarists like dime or halen may never have ever picked the guitar up in the 1st place. RIP Hendrix..........and ofcourse PIGGY!!!!!!!

i love the who & and the stones but to say townsend and richards belong on the list are you fuckin kiddin me?
now if you said mick taylor (former stone) that would be fine.
ps townsend is a great song writer not a great guitar player.
