UNEARTH Frontman: SLIPKNOT Trek Will Be 'Last Tour For A Long Time'
- Sep. 14, 2005
|
|
|
UNEARTH frontman Trevor Phipps has posted the following message on the group's official web site:
"Most of the dates are now complete in the tour section of the site, so go check 'em out and come see us this fall. We also have a few smaller club shows with AS I LAY DYING and others during off days on the SLIPKNOT tour.
"The headlining run and the SLIPKNOT tour will be our last two tours for a long time. We will go into writing hibernation this winter and record a new record this coming spring. A tentative release date of July or August 2006 has been talked about, so keep your eyes and ears open for news on that. We will also be throwing a few different songs than the 'norm' into our set on our headlining run. Songs that will see the light of day on any given night, besides our regular set, will be 'Predetermined Sky', 'The Charm', 'My Heart Bleeds No Longer' and 'Failure'."
As previously reported, UNEARTH will be releasing a special edition of "The Oncoming Storm" with a bonus DVD that will feature the original EPK — "Live at Downtown", featuring "My Heart Bleeds No Longer", "The Great Dividers" and "Black Hearts Now Reign", as well as interview footage, backstage antics, "Eye of the Oncoming Storm", a behind-the-scenes look at making "The Oncoming Storm", plus all of UNEARTH production videos as seen on MTV and Fuse. An October 18 release via Metal Blade is expected.
UNEARTH will be supporting SLIPKNOT on their "Subliminal Verses Tour: The Final Volume" beginning on October 14 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Also appearing on the bill will be AS I LAY DYING.

they have much more technical music than as I lay dying, but all three bands; slipknot, unearth, and as I lay dying are awesome bands

And...it's only a matter of time until the haters show up. Watch out! There may be some "clever" twists on the band's name. Oh snap.

And they've kicked serious ass every time. Unfortunately I can't see them on their headlining run when they come here cuz I'm gonna be in college at Santa Barbara. Bands need to start playing there, dammit.

I used to love Unearth, now you convinced me otherwise with your detailed assimilation of why they're terrible, thank you for saving my life, I owe you.
Obviously this is sarcasm. Shut up and move on

"Slipknot is gay. Unearth and As I Lay Dying are pretty god damn cool though."
Hahaha. Right, bud. Whatever floats your boat. Slipknot did disgrace themselves with Volume 3. But, come on? As I lay Dying? Why bother to write lyrics, if all you are going to do is, garggle and look like you're trying to eat the mic.

i know i am.. whats with all these american bands trying to sound european, and then mixing it with nu metal to make it successful? if this is the new wave of metal, ill pass and stick to bands like opeth (we need more of em)
ugh.. i must admit though, i havent heard unearth as yet, but my god.. metalcore sucks.

Ok, Opeth maniacs Go listen to Omnium Gatherum and Disillusion and Becoming the Archetype, they have some Opeth qualities Not everyone is going to be Opeth, AILD and Unearth are actually good metalcore, there are bad and good of the genre

No I don't much care for "metalcore" but Unearth did imppress me. I also thought Opeth sucked til I started to check em out a bit more, and I must say they are a breath of fresh air as afar as music goes. Really starting to grow on me. Everyone has bands they like and don't but it's not gonna stop me from my own tastes.

Unearth are one of the few metalcore bands that stand out for me - they've got some good songs. Looking forward to a new album to see what they'll do next.

i heard a great deal of positive things about them, but when i saw them on Ozzfest 04 I was largely unimpressed. They were better by far than the hardcore bands and God Forbid. But thats not saying much.

I like Unearth, but I wish they wrote more diverse songs. I saw them live and all the songs just kinda ran together. I hope they step up to the plate and knock one out of the park on this new album. The last one was their best yet.
As I lay dying is lame.
