As someone who would have bought a ticket if Maiden had been there, it does my heart good to see others agree. Some people may want to pay $120 to see Mudvayne and Velvet Revolver instead of Anthrax and Maiden, but I ain't one of them.

you know what is funny-----i live in phx and you have to compare the "capacity" numbers between gigantour and ozzfest.....gigantour says cricket pavilion is 7,000 capacity while ozzfest lists it as 16,000....i've been there and it is definitely 16,000.....wonder if mustaine and co. are fixing up those numbers!?!?!?!?

Mustaine and co. aren't fixing any numbers. For certain shows they close the lawn area at ampitheatre type venues. The lawn area alone makes up almost 75% of the attendance. Therefore resulting in the number to be so low.

It seems that the attendance numbers have really fallen after Maiden left.

Well the novelty of this year's ozzfest was having both Maiden and Sabbath on the same bill and now that this novelty is gone it seems that ozzfest is becoming more like gigantour part 2 when it comes to numbers.

I also think that the Sharon incident had a negative effect ,she really went too far.

After 10 years, you can finally call OzzFest a flop. It was a good run, but when you have to pay 90 bucks to watch Ozzy go through a Parkinson's episode on stage, it just not worth it.

The show was drawing all right with Maiden, but nothing spectular. Velvet Revolver isnt bad, but like P.O.D. and Incubus, they arent an "OzzFest" type of band.

174,586 people went to see ozzfest from july 17 to august 31st. Thats not a lot if you think about it...but as I saw the ticket gross...sharon must be laughting her ass off to the bank right about now.

All this ranting about Sharon Osbourne is gonna get nowhere. And threating to boycott all future Ozzfest shows isn't even gonna happen. I wish all metal heads would come together and boycott, but people won't do it. I say the best way to let sharon shitbourne know how we are when it comes to fucking with one of our own, is see her in public anywhere in the fucking world, and egg her ass. And her ass is an easy target, its that fat thing on top of her neck! Rot Bitch!

and then suggested boycotting Ozzfest. How exactly do you want to see metal then? three chord mallcore that is buried in the underground like it was during the 90's, or how it has become in the last few years with Ozzfest causing a resurgence in traditional style metal and resurrecting a few careers that play that type of music along with it?

People on this egg throwing/ ant sharon rant are just playing their own damn selves. Boycott these concerts and guess what happens? The record companies pull the plug, and metal gets dumbed down into three chord BS that gets no play anyway.

Like it or not, Ozzfest has had a huge impact on metal today, they have brought death metal acts into the mainstream, Old school thrash, Speed metal, and yeah, some mall core. But all in all, they got real metal promoted and in fashion again. So, if you pine for the days of Grunge, and right now it is trend punk, then boycott ozzfest. At least the evil sharon wont be getting any of your money, and neither will any of the bands that you like on the tour.
