DREAM EVIL Rejoined By Singer, Bassist
- Sep. 21, 2005
|
|
|
Sweden's DREAM EVIL have been rejoined by vocalist Niklas Isfeldt and bassist Peter Stålfors. "Whatever the reason, the only important thing is that they are back in the family again, and that we're getting ready to finally enter the studio to record the new album and follow up the great success of 'The Book of Heavy Metal'," drummer Snowy Shaw (KING DIAMOND, MERCYFUL FATE, MEMENTO MORI, NOTRE DAME) said in a statement sent to BLABBERMOUTH.NET. "A new chapter is about to be written..."
Isfeldt and Stålfors left DREAM EVIL in August, citing "personal issues" and "constantly recurring health problems." They were temporarily replaced by Jake E Berg and Tommy Larsson (ex-JAGGERNAUT, CHASTISEMENT), respectively.
DREAM EVIL's latest CD, "The Book of Heavy Metal", was released last year through Century Media Records. The follow-up to 2003's "Evilized", "The Book Of Heavy Metal" was recorded at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden and features special guest appearances by ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN keyboardist Mats Olausson (on the songs "Into The Moonlight", "Crusaders' Anthem", "Chosen Twice" and "Unbreakable Chain") and HALFORD/PAINMUSEUM guitarist "Metal" Mike Chlasciak.
DREAM EVIL features in its ranks acclaimed producer Fredrik Nordström (HAMMERFALL, IN FLAMES, DIMMU BORGIR, SPIRITUAL BEGGARS, etc.).

that they both left the band at the same time (if I remember right)... and now they rejoin together?
There must be some kind of connection, but however, it's good that they are back, TBOHM truly was an amazing album, the singer's voice is great!

Hmm...I dunno about everyone else, but I personally like Evilized the best. Not that I don't like the other two as well. Glad that they are back though. Gus G. needs to rejoin though.

just last night i was listening to Dream Evil and thinking to myself 'i wonder what will become of them, i sure do like this band' because, you see... i still had high hopes for the band, even with all the changes. however, seeing how Niklas is one of my favorite singers this brings me great joy to see the band all together again. i am looking forward to the new album and (hopfully) an American tour.
i just have to wonder, why did they leave in the first place just to rejoin a few months later?

Everyone says Gus G should Come Back and It would be the same, Very true I agree with all of you, Gus is amazing. But Snowy writes the majority of the songs so even if Gus doesn't come back Dream Evil will still fucking kick our asses. Welcome back Boys can't wait for the next Album!!!!! METAL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you God!
I was worried sick about the future of D.E when Niclas left.
Although comforting knowing Snowy Shaw was still in the ranks to deliver killer tunes.
Now I can only pray for a TBOHM part II,

Fucking great album!
This is the only power metal record that doesn't suffer from the cheese factor. Whenever I think power metal, I think Spinal Tap. That is not the case here at all!
