A Disgusted KISS ARMY Puts ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME On Notice - Sep. 29, 2005
In response to the announcement of the finalists for this year's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductions, fans of rock group KISS have issued a warning to the Hall: "We're sending in our forces."

Known as the KISS Army, fans of the make-up wearing, blood-spitting icons say they are tired of the lack of respect given to the '70s icons who are still playing to packed stadiums 30 years after their creation.

"KISS has been America's number one gold-record-award-winning group of all time," says rally chairman Paul Carpenter. "Look at their impact on the music industry! Artists from Lenny Kravitz to Garth Brooks have said on record that KISS were the most influential musicians in their lives. The fact that year after year the Hall has failed to place KISS on its list of finalists is not just an oversight but a disgrace."

According to rally co-chair Joe Apple, KISS fans from all around the world are already making plans to converge on the Hall of Fame Museum in Cleveland on August 4, 2006 to tell the Hall and the world that KISS deserves a place of honor among the legends of rock & roll. "The KISS Army formed as a grassroots movement by a teenager in Indiana 30 years ago," says Apple. "We're going to mobilize the generations of KISS fans who have enlisted over the years to make this an event the entertainment world will never forget."

Information about the rally is available at this location. Volunteers for the event can sign up to participate by clicking here.

...who gives a shit about the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame? It's nothing other than a tourist attraction for the city of Cleveland. I don't see how anyone can really feel that it is a legit Hall of Fame for any kind of music. A lot of bands in it, aren't even rock music.

The proper name should be the 'Pop Music Hall of Fame and City of Cleveland tourist Trap'.

Kiss should be honored their not in it.

I clicked on the link: http://www.geocities.com/KISSHallofFame/

Scrolled down a little and saw This:

>>Why KISS Deserves Hall of Fame Status<<

Here's one of the reasons listed:

>>KISS has discovered and nurtured the talents of bands such as Van Halen, Slaughter, Skid Row and Metallica.<<

FUCKIN' SLAUGHTER!!!

They should be put into the RnR Hall because They nurtured SLAUGHTER??????
WTF???

I know Gene helped out VAN HALEN in the early days. Mostly, Because He wanted to steal Eddie from them and make Him a member of KISS.
But, I never recall hearing that anyone from KISS ever did anything for METALLICA or SKID ROW.

Here's another:

>>KISS has been cited by musicians such as Lenny Kravitz, Garth Brooks and Limp Bizkit as their greatest influence.<<

Wow, The MIGHTY Limp Bizkit!!

I hate to break this to KISS, but Lenny Kravitz's greatest influence changes every day.

And, Rich376, don't forget that Vinnie Vincent was in KISS, then started the Vinnie Vincent Invasion. Slaugther was all the dudes from the Invasion without Vinnie.

Being a Kiss fan since '76, I think they deserve to be in the RnR HoF. And whether you like them or not, they have influenced countless bands/musicians over the years.

Having said that, I'm with NeonKnite - I hate all this hype shit! Who gives a rat's ass who's in the Hall of Fame? Or who gets a Grammy? Or who wins an Oscar?
Nobody, who's anybody - read THE FANS! - gives a shit! We buy music and go see music because we love it - not because we think our fav artists deserve some type of accolade.

So....rock and roll all night and party every day! Cause after all is said and done, that's about you got.

Some of you dipshits really need to take your dislike of Kiss and throw it aside long enough to make an informed and educated decision or judgement. Whether you like Kiss or not personally, they have indeed made a huge impact on the Rock N Roll world and are still packing stadiums, which is more than I can say for some of the bands today. Kiss were very influencial to MANY artists from the rock world, to country and pop. Some of you just hate the band, which is your opinion, but it doesn't change the fact that they've accomplished 100x more than most bands of today ever will.

Personally, I used to be a huge Kiss fan, and have seen them 17 times myself. Am I sick of the Greatest Hits cd's they keep putting out?.....Yes. Am I sick of the "Farewell" tours?.....Yes. Do I still think Kiss deserves a place in the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame?.....Of course I do.

No matter what one person believes, or even a handful....They don't speak louder than the millions upon millions of people that still love Kiss to this day...31 years after their first record went gold in 1974. Make your decisions based on the facts, not personal beliefs

You might want to consider a different "spokesperson" for pleading your case to the RRHOF. The Garth Brooks endorsement is a little weak. He's not smart enough to buy a larger pair of pants and has stunted the circulation in his head from wearing hats that weigh "gallons".

Kiss won't be in the RRHOF because they are best known for their merchandise empire more than their music.

I believe KISS should've been in the HOF years ago.
They've met all of the criteria.
http://www.rockhall.com/hof/process.asp

They've sold millions of albums.
KISS has been a major Influence for countless bands.
Has maintained a Huge fanbase all over the world for three decades.
Have been one of the most popular bands over the past 30 years and still draw very well on tour.

I think it's a joke that KISS aren't in the Hall.
As well as, BLACK SABBATH, VAN HALEN, RUSH and so many others.

But, Some of the reasons to induct the band that the KISS Army states are totally laughable.

Whatever your opinion of KISS...there is no denying the band deserves to be inducted. I'm hoping SABBATH finally gets in this year...opening the door for KISS next...with VH, Alice Cooper, Deep Purple, Rush, and Judas Priest to follow.

RECORD EXECS ARE LAWYERS AND BUSINESS PEOPLE. THEY DO NOT LISTEN TO ANYTHING A BAND DOES CLOSE ENOUGH TO GIVE A SHIT IF IT IS LIVE OR NOT. AS LONG AS IT IS IN CHARACTER WITH THE BAND AND CURRENT TRENDS THEY GIVE THE OK AND THE RECORD GOES OUT. KISS ALIVE 1 HAS MINIMAL PATCHWORK CAUSE THE BAND HAD NO CASH TO FIX IT. BY COMMISION OR OMMISION THE BAND HAD INTEGRITY WITH THAT RECORD AS IT WAS THEM PLAYING FOR BETTER OR WORSE. THAT IS ONE OF THE REASONS WHY THE RECORD WAS A CRITICAL AND COMMERCIAL SUCCESS. AFTER THAT IT ALL WENT DOWN HILL. SOME LIVE ALBUMS HAVE OVERDUBS SOME DO NOT (SLAYER DECADE OF AGRESSION) EVERYBODY MAKES MISTAKES IN A LIVE SITUATION. (YOU REALLY CAN NOT COMPARE THE SLOP OF KISS TO OTHER BANDS WHO FOR THE MOST PART MAKE AUTHENTIC LIVE ALBUMS) THE MATTER IS OF DEGREE. ALIVE 2 IS PRETTY MUCH A STUDIO RECORD AND TO PLAY THAT BAD AS TO HAVE VIRTUALLY NOTHING TO SALVAGE OUT OF A TOURS WORTH OF MATERIAL IS A DISGRACE. THE CROWD SOUNDS FAKE (LIKE A MADDEN VIDEOGAME) AND SO DOES THE PLAYING AND THIS GOES BEYOND JUST FIXING 2 SONGS. AGAIN WHEN PAUL STANLEY WAS ASKED HOW LIVE THIS RECORD WAS HE SAID WITH A SMIRK "LIVE ENOUGH" KINDA MAKES YOU WONDER WHY SOME PEOPLE WERE ASKING QUESTIONS IN THE FIRST PLACE? IF ACE AND PETER AND ALL OF THE OTHER FORMER "MEMBERS" DID NOT HAVE GAG ORDERS ON THEM YOU WOULD REALLY LEARN THE TRUTH.

Actually, last tour they were selling instant live cds immediately after the concert. no touch ups there, and it sounded great. I dont know if it would have sounded if Ace were there. He makes alot of mistakes. I love him, but he is a mess. And also, Gene and Paul never said Ace was a bad guitar player! They never trash talked him. They always wished him well when asked about him. Ace was just a mess at the end. At the end in '80, and in '01. The only thing they said was he had an abuse problem, which everyone knew anyway.

You have got be kidding. Led Zeppelin and Kiss in the same sentence. You are truly the most retarded person on this site. Only 3 good songs, what are you smoking. Maybe 3 good songs on one album maybe. Zeppelin have more musical talent then Kiss ever had. Kiss without 1. stageshow 2. make-up 3. marketing, are comic book characters at best. If they had not worn the make-up there would be no discussion of these wanna be musicians now. Nobody would have bought there music or anything else they have tried to sell. These guys were a gimmick that were at the right place and the right time. Remember when they took there make-up off and were making albums. Of course you don't. Neither did anybody else. Why do think they put it back on. This band has always been a joke. When people said they were influenced by Kiss they clearly meant stage show and marketing. Nobody says it was there talent. Now go listen to Phisical Graffitti and listen to some real musical talent.
