TOOL To Take Part In Online Chat

According to a posting at Toolband.com, the members of TOOL will conduct a "chat party" on Wednesday, October 12. "We did this last year, had some fun, so I thought we'd try it again," the posting adds. "Along with the members of the band, it's also your chance to chat with some of their musician friends, including the members of BUTCHER ( Sasha, Camella, Reeder & more), kaRIN and Statik of COLLIDE, Aaron and some of the guys from ISIS, Buzz and Dale of THE MELVINS, some PYGMY LOVE CIRCUS folk and VOLTO!" It's been four years since TOOL released their last album, 2001's "Lateralus", and drummer Danny Carey told Launch that the band prefer to take their time recording the follow-up. "We're not pressured, I think, and we don't have a record company hanging over us, saying, 'You have to do an album every year,' or something," he said. "It's a lot more important to take our time and have something to say, and if you're putting out a record every year, how much can you really learn in one year? You know, you've got to develop as a person and develop as a player."

Eh, take your time. I'd rather have an unrushed quality product when it comes to Tool. I'd always rather wait and have quality product than some of churn that comes out of some bands.
And Danny's work with Adrian Belew and Les Claypools on Adrian's Side One CD is some awesome work. Can't wait for Side 3, the return of the power trio. Very under-rated that Danny is.

another 5 years, you'll all be bashing this band. especially if the next record goes multi-platinum.
i love them personally, but they have kinda lost their edge, IMO.
opiate and undertow are classics, but i never quite got the rest of it... aside from the singles that were released. those were cool.

Tool is cool but I prefer Metalcore now because Metalcore bands release albums more often than Tool.

Can't wait for Tool's new one. It does take too long but atleast they have their creative input and can do what they want to, not like alot of other bands. I do think the last one was a bit weak. Aenema was their best work to date.

... is one of the more creative bands around right now.
That being said, they are also the Stanley Kubrik of music: very creative releases, yet once in a decade releases. Some of us a a little impatient with the rate at which they produce an album.

Are you high? Tool isn't and has NEVER been about speed or being "hard." Why in the hell did you ever listen to them? If you don't "get" them then they are doing exactly what they are supposed to and I like it. Morons will fall to the way side. Oh yeah, and LATERALUS was eons above anything they have put out. Better playing, singing, lyrics, ideas, etc. They are just getting started ...........let the rabbits wear glasses!
