NINE INCH NAILS Recruit A PERFECT CIRCLE Drummer

According to MJI Interactive, Jerome Dillon was back in NINE INCH NAILS' lineup Saturday night (Oct. 1) in Los Angeles after the band was forced to postpone its Friday show in Oakland, Calif., because of the drummer's struggle with a heart condition. A PERFECT CIRCLE stickman Josh Freese had been recruited to fill in if Dillon couldn't perform. Meanwhile, the Oakland show has been rescheduled for Nov. 19.
The tour's Sept. 16 opener in San Diego was cut short after Dillon collapsed onstage. The following night's performance in Tucson, Ariz., was also postponed.
Dillon later blamed "fatigue and exhaustion" as the cause in a post on his web site.
NINE INCH NAILS are scheduled to perform at E Center in West Valley City, Utah tonight (Oct. 4). Although there is official word yet regarding Dillon's current status with the group, Spin magazine is reporting that Jerome will be sitting out the rest of the tour — presumably to be temporarily replaced by Freese.

Josh Freese is going to step in on one of the bigest tours of the year and nail every song.
Jerome's kit is very expansive, with something like six electronic trigger pads, it's one hell of a 'pair of shoes' to fill in. since Troy Van Leeuwen and Jeordie White are already on the bill, it's almost APC all over again now.
I saw them in Portland, and it was life-changing. Whoever says that Reznor is a narcissist is lying, I have never seen a man feel every note of every song so deeply as him that night.
Trent, Jeordie, Troy, Josh Freese and Josh Homme.
Kick-ass!

He was Sting's touring drummer this summer. He played at live8 with Sting.

I've seen ACP a couple times. The star of those show wasn't Maynard...both shows it was Josh. His energy and skill rival Peart and Carey from Tool.
I've seen NIN twice this tour. To me, the act has grown a little stale. They need a shot in the arm (no pun intended). This might be it.

Josh also just wrapped touring with DEVO!
Shattered his finger in New Hampshire when his finger got caught between the drum rim and stick. He KEPT FUCKIN PLAYING!
This guy is hardcore and plays for DEVO! FUCK YES!

He adds to every recording and live performance. No, there is not necessarily huge amounts of technical expertise required- but even playing with a drum machine or a click track is hard for some. Too bad for Dillon, tons of drugs often lead to "fatigue and exhaustion", and are not good for your heart.

Not liking Josh for playing on Good Charlotte's album is kinna understandable but the man makes his $$$. If you could, I bet you and everyone else would do the same. Other bad bands he got paid by are far and wide...Puddle Of Mudd.Guns N' Roses..Devo(1st band).......and BLEEEEHHH even the Indigo Girls!!! He is still a kick ass drummer nonetheless!!!

Josh is the best modern rock drummer...PERIOD. Seem him with APC & The Vandals an the fact is he simply OWNS any kit hit sits behind.
