TESTAMENT: 'Live In London' DVD Due In November - Oct. 4, 2005
Eagle Rock Entertainment has set a November 1 release date for the new DVD from TESTAMENT, entitled "Live In London".

"Live In London" is the documentation of a dream that long-time die-hard TESTAMENT fans have been waiting for: the reuniting of the band’s "classic" lineup. Featuring vocalist Chuck Billy, guitar virtuosos Eric Peterson and Alex Skolnick, bassist Greg Christian, and original drummer Louie Clemente (along with TESTAMENT and WHITE ZOMBIE alumnus John Tempesta as a second drummer), the band rips through classic TESTAMENT fan favorites in this show, shot in London earlier in 2005.

Among the leaders of heavy metal over the past twenty years, TESTAMENT have always provided the rock solid proof that great song writing, regardless of genre, will always transcend time. Their crucial contributions to the early thrash metal surge of the mid to late 1980s helped to develop a sound that forever changed the face of heavy music and resonates just as loudly today. With all of their Bay Area peers either calling it a day or drastically altering their sound, TESTAMENT has remained a worldwide metal ambassador throughout the 1990s and into the new century.

Whats that about? John Tempesta is a top notch drummer anyway, but why do they need two?
Personally, my fave Testament album is Low.

Saw them on Sunday.
Tho Testament will always be one of my faves, w/ Alex and especially Louie...They are weak, feeble, and SLOOOOOOOOOW!!!
Louie just cant play...He looked like he was dying back there, and it was half speed at best... After seeing Low/Demonic/Live@Filmore/Gathering/MetalGods tours...this is so watered down and so NOT heavy.

I guess you live on Long Island, cause I was at the Crazy Donkey as well...I think we saw 2 different shows.

I thought they were great...the songs were NOT slow IMO, they were just as fast as the studio versions!!!

Chuck definitely looks a little worse for the wear, but you battle cancer and look half as good!

I was right down front (some serious pit action and stage diving, esp during "Over The Wall") and saw a GREAT show...where were you, back at the bar getting soused??? C'mon down front and tell me the same thing!

Song list (Sunday night show):

1. The Preacher
2. The New Order
3. The Haunting
4. Electric Crown
5. Sins Of Omission
6. Practice What You Preach
7. The Legacy
8. Into The Pit
9. Souls Of Black
10. Alone In The Dark
11. Over The Wall
12. Raging Waters
13. Trial By Fire
14. Burnt Offerings
15. Disciples Of The Watch

They also said "no promises", but would possibly record a new studio album with the original line up.

I have a bootleg of the Milan show from a few nights prior to the London gig. They certainly wernt slow when Tempesta was playing - though being tuned down can make it sound slower than on record. However, when Louie comes on for the last few numbers the standard of drumming DROPS big time. He has eaten too many pies.
The reason for no songs off LOW through to the Gathering is THAT THIS IS THE ORIGINAL LINE UP! Do the reformed Sabbath play any DIO/Gillan/Martin songs. THINK BEFORE YOU WRITE

I hope the live DVD is a quality recording this time (= no Walter "cab driver" Morgan involved, haha).

I'd like to hear a new Testament album with the original lineup. First Strike Still Deadly was solid (the Andy Sneap production was a bit too clinical and sterile sounding this time, though) and Alex Skolnick is king. I won't expect the drumming to be Lombaro/ Hoglan/ Tempesta/ Bostaph/ Dette/ Kontos/ Jacobs/ Allen standard, but Louie Clemente should really practice his ass off!

No I was right up front, like always...Moved several times to let those asshole leaping from the stage land on there head or on those poles...

After Metal Gods/Gathering/Live @ Filmore shows...This one sucked...
Were you at any of those? Cause if you were, you'd be disappointed too...

I was right up front, just like I have been on every tour spanning the last decade, and they were indeed slow. Yes...as slow as the studio versions recorded 15 years ago.

Succeeding Bostaph, Dette, Hoglan, DAVE LOMBARDO and Tempesta, Louie Clemente was really just dying back there. Each of those drummers were *INCREDIBLE* and I honestly feel the original lineup makes the band weaker (and my first time seeing them was '91 w/ this lineup, they only got better with time).

So, I was front and center, NOT getting soused, and think the same thing...weak. It was a good show, no doubt, but compared to The Gathering tour, Metal Gods, Live @ the Fillmore....can't live up to the best.

You don't think so? Then why were they asking for between €25K and €35K to play ONE show in Dublin during this reunion tour? How popular do they think they are these days?

And, they have no new music. Would they not have released it after 6 fucking years if they had? They're almost as bad as Metallica.

their fee sounds about right. why are you so surprised at that? why should they play for 10K euros??

presuming a 30K fee, they would need 1000 payers at €30 each to simply cover the band's fee, let alone the cost of transport, venue hire etc. It's excessive.

in other words, they have become stale and predictable like so many other metal bands have become.

by definition isn't metal as a genre stale and predictable?
that's just what it is and what metalheads want.

look at slayer or maiden. both have devoted followings and both play the same songs pretty much at every concert.
i don;t see how testament are different, other than they are not as popular...

TESTAMENT!!!!!!!!
