AEROSMITH Might Play Full Albums On Tour - Oct. 5, 2005
Launch Radio Networks reports: AEROSMITH is asking fans to help with something special on their upcoming tour. The band is thinking about doing two of their albums live at the shows, and they want to know which ones you'd prefer. Go to the fan club web site Aeroforceone.com and vote for your favorites from throughout the band's career. The poll is open until October 15, which would give AEROSMITH two weeks to rehearse the winners, since they hit the road with LENNY KRAVITZ beginning October 30 in Uncasville, Connecticut.

Lead guitarist Joe Perry recently told Boston radio station WZLX-FM that the idea to focus on an album or two has been around for a while. "It's been something we've talked about for years, you know, like, actually doing a kind of a mini-set in the middle of a big set, you know, where you do an album from front-to-back, in that order," he said. "So if we got enough of a groundswell from our fans to do something like that, we would definitely do it."

AEROSMITH will release the live "Rockin' the Joint" set on October 25. The DualDisc features a live performance on the CD side and footage from the show on the DVD side.

I'd say Rocks and Get Your Wings. I really have no desire to ever hear "walk this way" ever again.

That is probably because there is a pretty long cover on there (Mother Popcorn) that they would play. I will say I still don't think that's a choice though.

Anyway, if I had to choose two albums for them to play they would be their self titled debut, and either Rocks or Pump. I'll be seeing them on December 6th in Minneapolis. I've always loved Aerosmith and I don't care what other people think of them.

I've never bothered to see Aerosmith live, since I was too young to catch the 70's tours, and everything post "Done With Mirrors" has not been pleasing to my ears. If a couple old-school albums come out on top of this poll though, I will certainly pay good money to check it out.

It seems like most fans of any band take the attitude that the first 2 or 3 of the band's albums are untouchable classics and anything after that sucked. But that attitude is so unrelated to reality. For example, I think the first albums by Metallica and Slayer are both absolute crap compared to their later ones, and with Sabbath, I'd rather hear 'Technical Ecstacy' than 'Paranoid'. 'Fair Warning' is fifty times better than 'Van Halen 1'.

As for Aerosmith ... well frankly I'd rather hear them play 'Night in the Ruts' and 'Permanent Vacation'. Both very underrated albums. For those fans who want the hear them play the first two albums, well bad luck, you should have committed suicide in 1975 and you would have died happy.

I hope people on this site can take a joke ... even though I am serious at the same time.

COMMENT | They should do any of the following..........

cheap trick did the "entire LP" thing way back in 1998...they played 4 nights in a row at the great american music hall in san francisco...first night, the debut LP; second night "in color"; third night "heaven tonight" ; and the 4th night "live at budokan"
...along with each show playing the entire LPS running in order, they played 8-10 different songs (each different each night) from their catalogue...wow, what a fucking GREAT run that was!!!

and it will be fine for me.
thou the biggest musical crime Aerosmith ever done in its carrer were to have The Who as a opening act,
Yokohama/Osaka not that the band had anything to do with it, but thousands Walk away! Walk`d the other way from the stage.
it were pointless and stupid to hear honk the bobo after watching Pete smashing a guitar!

Assuming I can make their Ottawa show on November 16 my votes for Aerosmith albums done in their entirety would be:

"Draw The Line"
"Night In The Ruts"
"Rocks"
"Toys In The Attic"
"Done With Mirrors"
"Permanent Vacation"
"Pump"
"Rock In A Hard Place" (that's the one with "Lightning Strikes" on it, right?)
Half of "Nine Lives"

That'd do. And if you have to cut Lenny Kravitz' set short so be it. By the way, most bands after 1965 ripped off the Rolling Stones. Isn't it about time to stop feigning outrage over this right about now?
