SLIPKNOT, FEAR FACTORY, CHIMAIRA Featured On 'Infected' Soundtrack - Oct. 6, 2005
Providing a thundering musical backdrop to "infect" by, Majesco Entertainment Company and developer Planet Moon Studios today announced a deal with Roadrunner Records and several top heavy metal bands, including SLIPKNOT, FEAR FACTORY, CHIMAIRA, TRIVIUM, ILL NINO, and THE AGONY SCENE to provide licensed music for the in-game soundtrack for Infected, scheduled for release on PSP (PlayStation Portable) in November.

In addition to providing tracks, all nine members of SLIPKNOT appear in-game as unlockable characters for use in either single player or multiplayer modes. 3volution Studios, co-owned by Raymond Herrera, drummer of FEAR FACTORY, will be responsible for creating all the sound F/X and recording voice-overs for Infected.

"We've compiled music from some of today's hottest metal bands to create an in-game soundtrack that perfectly amplifies the hardcore, fast-paced game play experience of Infected," said Ken Gold, vice president of Marketing for Majesco. "Players' pulses will pound as they attempt to complete intense missions while being shredded by the bone-crunching sounds of some of heavy metal's finest bands."

Licensed songs from Roadrunner Records confirmed for the Infected soundtrack include:

* "Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr" - TRIVIUM
* "When It Cuts" - ILL NINO

Slipknot and The Agony Scene, worst cuts from that soundtrack by far. Chimaira and Fear Factory, the best. Trivium and Ill Nino pretty decent though, too.

Is Raymond involved in this? I mean besides the FF song. I know that he's a video game freak but I really doubt he is involved.

Raymond is co owner of 3volution. They do sound engineering. He was on Attack of the Show on G4 a few weeks ago for something related to his company. Him and the host had a drum off which wasn't all that great.

Anyways, I think they could've picked some better tracks from those bands. It doesn't seem like a very strong soundtrack to me.

...what's the gist behind this game... what's it about? I don't know if anything will ever top the thrill of playing San Andreas and being able - FINALLY - to steal some kid's bike, and pedal away, D-Bow style, but I live in hope.

Mmm... Beer... c(_)
