KORN: 'Twisted' Video To Feature Appearances By LIL' JON, XZIBIT, SNOOP DOGG

KORN frontman Jonathan Davis has told Billboard.com that the group's video for their new single, "Twisted Transistor", finds Lil' Jon, Xzibit, Snoop Dogg and David Banner stepping into the roles of Davis, bassist Fieldy, guitarist Munky and drummer David Silveria, respectively. Although Davis declined to reveal specifics, he confirmed KORN appears "somewhere" in the video and that the rap stars will be seen playing instruments, since "they're in our world. Just getting four rappers in the same place is near fucking impossible, but we pulled it off." Davis said that in addition to the standard-length clip, there will also be a seven or eight-minute mini-movie version. "It's so amazing," he enthused. "It's one of the coolest things I've ever seen." As previously reported, "Twisted Transistor" is drawn from KORN's upcoming Virgin debut, "See You on the Other Side", due Dec. 6. Davis said the group recorded 12 songs with hitmaking production team the Matrix and another eight with producer Atticus Ross. "The regular version of the album will have 14 songs, and there'll be a special edition which has 17," Davis told Billboard.com. "The whole record in its entirety is so different. There are some straight-ahead, heavy rock tunes, but they're a different kind of heavy. It's like we have this industrial bastard child that flailed its head out of us." KORN are expected to launch a full North American tour in March or April.

...where a hybrid of rap and metal meant Kerry King elbowing a guitar-playing Gorilla offstage during 'No Sleep 'Til Brooklyn', or Chuck D and Scott Ian telling me to 'Bring Tha Noise'... then again, in those days, rap was actually percieved as a threat, not unlike our beloved heavy metal, as opposed to the commercially accepted one-hit-wonder rappers of today... still, as far as rappers of today go, Necro is the shit, plus he gets extra cool points for being a metal fan and collaborating with Dan Lilker, Away (Voivod), Trevor Peres and Igor Cavalera...

I was TRYING to hold SOME hope for this band. But that about does it for me. I liked the old stuff, I really did. But this is just rediculous. Rap does not equal metal. Jonathan needs to learn that... But, I doubt he ever will. Oh well. Guess no one can do anything about it;Korn stopped listening to their fans a LONG time ago. Good riddance I suppose.

Even as a loyal Korn fan from the first album, I seriously think the boys should hang it up. The Word Up cover was horrific, the new single sounds like a pop song...seriously, Korn used to be something innovative and new, now they're becoming a parody of themselves...it's almost as if they listened to all the people bashing them and became the thing people falsly accused them of being.
First album is still classic, but fuck this saddens me.
