Country Band Records Tribute To DIMEBAG: Audio Available

According to Billboard magazine, Cody Canada and Mike McClure of Texas alt-country band CROSS CANADIAN RAGWEED have penned a tribute to late PANTERA/ DAMAGEPLAN guitarist Darrell "Dimebag" Abbott, entitled "Dimebag", which appears on the new CROSS CANADIAN RAGWEED release, "Garage" ( Universal South). [Listen to CROSS CANADIAN RAGWEED's "Dimebag" at this location.] Abbott's death "hit very, very close to home," singer/guitarist Canada told Billboard. "Of course, we were fans. Anybody that starts off as a garage band is a fan of ( Abbott's former band) PANTERA." But what really sticks in the minds of musicians is how Abbott's untimely death occurred. "The guy was just up there playing his music, and somebody just walked up and took his life right in the middle of a show," Canada said. "I know people are murdered every day, but it hits a little closer to home when it's in your profession." Canada said CROSS CANADIAN RAGWEED has become more mindful of security since Abbott's slaying. "Some of those real rowdy gigs, it's hard to close your eyes and get into it, because you're always thinking."

Dime would have enjoyed that. The motherfucker went to Limp Bizkit concerts, so I guess you could say he enjoyed almost all music. Just hope they don't release it as a single, then I'll kind of look at this with a different perspective. Damn, good country music is still ripping off Skynyrd, whatever.

Just wanted everyone to know that the song is dedicated to two of Ragweed's musical inspirations.
1) Dimebag - first verse
2) Kurt Cobain - second verse
Hell Cody Canada even named his son's middle name Dierks "Cobian" Canada.
