BILLY GRAZIADEI Explains BIOHAZARD's Decision To Call It A Day - Oct. 11, 2005
In a recent interview with Britain's Zero Tolerance magazine, BIOHAZARD guitarist/vocalist Billy Graziadei confirmed that the band's recently released tenth album, "Means to an End", will also be their last: BIOHAZARD are splitting up.

"It was a natural progression with the band," Billy said. "We've grown in different areas. I have a daughter and I'm focusing now on my other band SUICIDE CITY [also featuring former KITTIE bassist Jennifer Arroyo]; Danny [Schuler, drums] has three kids now, so things have really changed for him; Evan [Seinfeld, vocals and bass] is doing his big porno-acting thing now, and that's cool. One of the things about BIOHAZARD is that it's your life, your way. So to each his own.

"I think over the years we just grew apart," Billy continued. "I've come to a stage in my life where I've come full circle and music is only for pleasure now. Don't get me wrong, I always dug it, always enjoyed it, I've had a fucking great time, but I didn't know any better. All I had was music. But my reality now is that I have a family and we've got to pay the bills. I'm no different from you — we've both got to buy the same token to ride a train, you know? So I'm back in the workforce, hanging out with my buddies at the weekend and dealing with the bullshit so I can enjoy the pleasures of life, like making music."

"Means to an End" is available now on SPV Records.

is this: They lost it.
They used to be great and they used to fight for values that i respect. Then success went to their heads and they turned into a parody, total rockstar who snort cocaine and shag groupies..and eventually even marry pornostars and become one. How sad. And i don't know how people can envy such a lifestyle, getting married to someone who fucks other people for a job and that millions of people have seen naked? How disgusting and lame.

Such a lifestyle is pathetic and weak. R.I.P. Biohazard.

that show Oz fucking ruled. one of the best shows i've ever seen. of course that guy from Biohazard was actually one of the most lame characters on the show, which were very few and far between. brilliant show.

Biohazard is the shit period. One of the single most influential bands in metal and hardcore even if you do not like them. They have always had their own sound and never sold out or changed their sound for anyone. I got to see Billy in Portland on Sunday and Seattle on Monday and he was cool as usual. He did not have much to say about Biohazard, but they are playing some shows in 2006 and hopefully they will anounce some tour dates in a few months or so. It appears they are done for now but who knows down the road. Suicide City is a solid band live and far different from Biohazard but I like them. But Biohazard is Biohazard. Peace.

what happened to "down for life"??????
that statement kinda seems weird now.

anyway, good that they made an honest decision to call it a day. unlike some bands like anthrax who keep playing greatest hits and doing silly gimmicks to keep fans interested.

biohazard had some cool stuff. i don't think they ever topped urban discipline.

so is billy working a 9-5 now?????

The forefathers of today's pathetic metalcore trend call it a day, finally. Seen them on the Dynamo '95 festival and honestly, I never liked their burning-trashcan-tattooed-macho-crossover image and sound that much, apart from a couple of OK songs. Their toughguy neighborhood attitude always seemed to be very pretentious and odd in places like "old" Europe.

Give me Sick Of It All any day of the week.

"what happened to "down for life"??????

That went out the door when they decided to throw their "brother" Bobby out of the band. Remember the little statement "Biohazard is and always will be Bobby Billy Evan and Danny"? Anyone truly down for life would have helped their "brother" with their problem, not throw him out of the band.

They could have at least had him back for this farewell record. At least we could have got a real solo not that wah covered noise that littered the last few records.

Evan is making a fool out of himself and I would not want to associate with him if I was a decent family man like the other members seem to be.

""Master race, in unity, Master race, it ought to be" - remember that one? "Lying Coke Bitch" anyone?

good point. i read that statement in SOTWA liner notes. biohazard is and always will be. hmmmmmm. how things change.

i actually thought biohazard would be one of those bands that would just keep on going, the way they said they were 'brothers in blood', and 'down for life' all the time.

admittedly their tough street image did start to get tired after a while and they probably thought people would lose interest in such an image.

so what actually happened with bobby?

what is the "lying coke bitch" from?

weird as the guys publicisze their email addies on the bio site. i thought they were cool like that. obviously they've got kids and shit and are going through lots of life changes.

i wouldn't hold it against billy. when i saw them in london years ago when they were really big, they took time to sign tons of fans' shit before the gig.
afterwards they hung out with everyone and i was left with really good impressions of all of the guys. down to earth and really friendly. billy joked and took the piss out of my british accent. danny was genuinely touched when i said i loved his drumming.

I've been down with the guys since the Anthony Meo days and am sad to see this, but that is lfe. People grow, people change and something like Biohazard which has been going for well over 15 years was bound to die sooner or later. I am just glad the final album is the best thing they have done since Bobby was in the band. It would have been nice to have Bobby back in the fold for a farewell tour but there is just too much bad blood and history there for that to happen. I wish all the guys luck in their lives and have told them as such.
