QUEEN Drummer Performs With FOO FIGHTERS - Oct. 15, 2005
QUEEN drummer Roger Taylor sat behind the kit for the FOO FIGHTERS on a rendition of QUEEN's "Tie Your Mother Down" during the encore of the FOOS' headlining concert at the Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, NJ Friday night (Oct. 14).

QUEEN + PAUL RODGERS will play the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles next Saturday (October 22) before moving on to dates in Japan. The group is planning an extensive North American tour for next year.

QUEEN did a very successful European tour earlier this year, which was captured on the recent live album "Return of the Champions".

In addition to the live album, a "Return of the Champions" DVD is also on the way.

Thats strange, i saw Queen + Paul Rodgers on TV, and Rodgers was tryin to impersenate Freddie (in my opinion) alot, however it would be difficult to have to make up completly different moves to songs Freddie made historic.

I've heard alot of tunes with Paul Podgers singing and he does a great job

As I brought up in another thread once, If anyone were to fill Freddies shoes, it would be George Michael. I have the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert on CD and although I'm not a Michael fan, he nailed the Queen tunes perfectly and blew away the competition. He has the flair, vocal ability and stage presence to do Freddie justice

I think if he were given the chance, he could do it. But that's my opinion

In recent months on Blabbermouth, I've read negative comments made against true Metal / Rock legends such as VENOM, AC/DC, JIMI HENDRIX, DEEP PURPLE, MOTÖRHEAD, SODOM, etc...

...and now people are on here praising George Michael????

BTW - Respect to Queen = They had some very cool songs, some of which were VERY heavy indeed!! R(ock)IP Freddie!!

I was very sceptical at first, especially considering John Deacon called it a day and is not part of this lineup.

But the live album "Return of the Champions" sounds great! Paul Rodgers is a surprisingly good fit. George Michael? Robbie Williams? Give me a break. Freddy was heavily influenced by Rodgers so this makes sense. I think the live recording is good for Brian May's rendition of "Love Of My Life" alone. Great tracklist; from old stuff like "Fat Bottomed Girls", "I’m In Love With My Car" and "‘39" to the newer songs they never played live "I Want It All" and "The Show Must Go On".

As long as Brian May and Roger Taylor tour under "Queen + Paul Rogers" it's fine with me. These classic rock songs deserve to be played live. If only John Deacon would be on board, too.

I'd like to see this nevertheless. At least I was able to see the guitar legend Brian May live for once, at Rock Am Ring in 1993, with Cozy Powell on drums.

I've seen the foos cover a few songs and they always
do justice to the original.

Hey fucknots,
Paul Rogers is no Freddy. However, Paul is one of the
greatest living legendary rocknroll voices of all time.

This would be a show i would like to see. I heard some
of paul and brian playing bc tunes and it really kicked
ass. Hearing paul sing the bc material is worth it.

I know it sounds crazy...but find the video/DVD of the Freddie Mercury tribute concert; George Michael puts everyone other than David Bowie and Annie Lennox to shame. It wasn't that the others sucked, either; George Michael was just that good. He definitely should've gotten this gig.

blessed be.

How is it that some of you idiots seem to think that the singer from Wham can possible even stand next to Queen let alone try to sing.
Talent??? He has the talent to sing crap.

He's not a rock singer so ENOUGH!!
He will never be in QUEEN!
GET OVER IT!!!

At least Paul rocks, I just came from NJ where Queen played last night. It was amazing, though I have to admit it was much better when he left the stage & left Queen alone. But he was still great.
