POISON Guitarist's Home Broken Into; 30 Pieces Of Musical Equipment Stolen

Early Sunday morning (Oct. 23), the home of POISON guitarist C.C. Deville was broken into. Many guitars and several amplifiers were stolen from his private collection. Arriving home from a personal business trip, Deville noticed that several guitars were not where he had left them. Upon further inspection, an initial inventory showed that approximately 30 pieces of equipment had been taken from his house. Included on the list are several vintage amplifiers and collectible guitars. Many of these are recognizable to C.C.'s fans, as they have been used on stage by this talented guitar player as well as featured in the numerous music videos he has appeared in during his 20-year career. "This has been a difficult year for me," said C.C. "I have struggled with my alcohol addiction and sought and completed treatment. Then to return home only to find it had been maliciously violated. Unfortunately the finger points to someone I have graciously allowed in my house and life. This saddens and disappoints me greatly." C.C. continued, "Not only do these guitars represent a large financial loss to myself, but they are also a damaging and hurtful loss to POISON and all of its fans." Several of these pieces have become recognizable icons whose value exceeds their monetary or insured value. "I'm doing my best to think of this as a test to my hard-earned sobriety. It's a test I do not intend to fail. It is, however, made more difficult by the fact that my feeling of safety is gone. And that I have lost some very gifted friends in my guitars." C.C. concluded. A list of everything that was stolen will available on his personal web site, Planet Deville, when the inventory process has been completed. While the proper authorities have been notified and are working on solving this case, C.C. is urging anyone with knowledge of the theft itself or the whereabouts of any of the missing valuables to contact Roberta Cowan at Johannessongs, Inc. at (310)388-3936 or via email at Kitty@planetdeville.com. A reward is being offered for information or return of the items.

poison never claimed to be a metal band and were popular because they wrote some good hard rockin tunes as well as ballads. for those of you to young to remember the 80's was about having a good time and the "hair bands" provoded that. sure the look was gay but but pay attention people this important, women loved it which meant they went to the shows which meant the guys who went to the shows got lucky.and while they may not have been balls to the wall metal they put on a good enough show to keep everyone entertained. so go on and enjoy your death metal or wow life sucks music of today along with the crunching guitars with grunting and growls passing as vocals just stop slamming on 80's music you know nothing about.

dude, awesome post...if the kids of today would quit bitching about how much life sucks, they might actually enjoy it...I am actually pretty young, but people tend to forget that poison was a fun band that attracted alot of WOMEN...hell they still do...
FACT: This weekend I was out at a bar that had a digital jukebox...I was with my friends, girlfriend, and her friends...I went up and played RATT, Skid Row, Motley Crue and Poison...the bar started rocking...people started drinking more and having fun...CC talented?...yeah, he knows how to play the riffs that get the chicks...

It's all in good fun and I take the "mom" comment back as its just me goofing. I saw Poison and Ratt back in the day and I still have my Poison tour shirt.
It does suck having your gear stolen and I am a musician and regardless, don't wish that on anyone.
I did see C.C. in Vegas at the Tom Petty show a few months back and he was sadly intoxicated as he stumbled in to a couple and knocked their drinks out of their hands before he wondered in to the crowd.
I had my kids with me and, before I witnessed that incident, was going to have their picture made with him. Alas, they did want to know who the "white haired guy" was and what was wrong with him. It truly was sad and I hope he keeps his shit in a pile.
It's all good and I like Poison as well as any other band that brought hard rock and metal to the forefront.

I do own guitars and do play but I am a drummer first and foremost but I'm sure many folks don't consider drummers musicians.
