SKINDRED's Trailer Broken Into, Equipment Stolen - Oct. 30, 2005

SKINDRED bassist Daniel Pugsley has sent the following message to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:

"The morning after an awesome show in San Antonio with H.I.M. and FINCH at the White Rabbit, we discovered our trailer had been broken into. Both my basses and Mikey's [Dee] guitars were taken as well as one of Arya's Iron Cobra kick pedals. We were totally bummed out, but we managed to get replacements (just) in time to play in Houston the next day. So basically it would be great if you guys could keep an eye out for them for us, especially all you guys in Texas, or if you know anything about this please let us know.

"The first bass that was taken from me was the Musicman Stingray with the Jamaican flag scratch plate that I used in the 'Nobody' video. It's totally standard apart from it's got a Seymour Duncan pickup in it. The second was also a Stingray, but it was strung through body and it had a black headstock with faded gold writing on; it was kinda a one-off. This one also had a Seymour Duncan in it. Mikey lost two left-handed Musicman Axis guitars, one black and one red. Also, if you have any pictures of them, please send them in so we can post them on the website. We'd really like to get them back, for sentimental reasons as much as value, so really, any info you could give us would be great. You can contact us both through the web site or our Myspace page."

	Just want to say I hope they get their stuff back. Anyone who would steal musical gear is the LOWEST possible form of human life and deserves to be flayed alive. I had my favorite guitar I have ever owned stolen several years back. To this day, if someone finally confessed, I would still thrash them to within an inch of their fucking life. Seriously. Again, Skindred has my condolences, and I hope they get their shit back. Also hope the culprits get their asses handed to them.

	They have a major label behind them. At least their stuff got replaced quickly. Take what happened to Project 86 last year...all their shit was stolen, and there was no one to get their back. THOSE guys have shit for luck...

	People stealing from other people, regardless of what is stolen, is always lame. I sure hope Skindred can get their stuff back so they can keep on doing what they love to do with the instruments they love to use.

	I would hate to have someone steal my Ibanez or my Les Paul those things are like family, but at the same time someone should have stolen that piece of crap keyboard the lead singer uses live, that got annoying.

	I don't understand why this seems to be happening more and more often. I'm willing to bet everything I have that even though my equipment probably isn't as high-quality as what they're rockin', I'd still be infuriated at even an attempt at stealing my stuff. It's just sad; people don't realize that these people aren't exactly having only fun doing this, it's also work. Stealing a musician's equipment is like taking away a mechanic's tools; he isn't gonna replace your engine with his bare hands. Many well-wishings to the band...hope it works out for them.

	stealing a musician's instrument is like taking an artist's brush, only it costs them a few thousand dollars more.

	I can't say I'm much of a fan of Skindred, although I have seen them several times supporting other bands. I've met the lead singer Benji a few times and he's a down to earth, genuinely cool guy. I hope they get their gear back...I would go ape shit if someone stole any of my guitars.
