EVANESCENCE Guitarist Remixes Track For Boxing World Champion
- Nov. 5, 2005
Little Rock, AR-based Official 1 Records has enlisted EVANESCENCE guitarist John LeCompt and Phil Tayler, frontman for alternative rock band FUTURE LEADERS OF THE WORLD, to remix a track inspired by Arkansas' world-champion boxer Jermain Taylor as he prepares to defend his belt against ex-champ, Bernard Hopkins.
"I hadn't worked on a hip-hop project before," LeCompt said in a press release. "When Minthone Washington of Official 1 Records contacted me, I admit I was a bit apprehensive. After hearing the original track, I said 'Yeah, I can do this. It was really good."
Tayler, who has worked on rap projects before, stated, "Official 1 Records has a great sound. Artist Ball Jones is an awesome talent and I know we can bring an edgy, eclectic, high-energy feel to the already hot track."
"Knock 'em Out!" is the fourth single released by Official on Jermain Taylor's behalf.

IS IT JUST ME OR THAT SONG "Riotstarter" on the new SOULFLY sounds very much like "Firestarter" by Prodigy?
