'Heavy Metal Parking Lot' Classic Movie Plus Two Hours Of Bonus Footage Available On DVD - Nov. 10, 2005
"Heavy Metal Parking Lot", widely considered to be one of the greatest rock 'n' roll movies of all time, has finally been made available on DVD. Filmed in 1986 at a Maryland concert arena parking lot before a JUDAS PRIEST concert, "Heavy Metal Parking Lot" is an unvarnished anthropological study of American metalheads in their mid-'80s glory. It is the quintessential '80s magnum opus, made complete with a vast display of muscle cars, spandex, bleach-blonde frizzy perms, bare-chested dudes, mullets from hell, faded-denim metal chicks, and the largest collection of late '70s Camaros ever seen in one location. Virtually unknown to mainstream audiences for two decades, "Heavy Metal Parking Lot" was a VHS bootleg favorite among musicians, movie stars and cult-video fanatics worldwide. This limited-edition DVD includes a pristine digital-video transfer of the original uncut 16-minute documentary, plus over two hours of exclusive content! Viewer discretion: explicit language, drug references and loud music.

But what do we have to look forward to as a society, now that this is coming out on DVD?

If you were actually there in the 80s, you know that this is really how it went down. Fun and funny.

"Rob Halford is the best muthfuckin' singer AROOOOOOOUND!!! And KK Downing?!?! That muthafucka can play some GUITAAAAAAAAAR!!!"

"Gram, man! Like Gram of dope and shit?!?"

"Yeah, she's trippin' Jack Daniels..."

CAPITOL CENTER, LANDOVER MARYAND. Those were the bad old days as far as fashion goes. Nothing like Zebra spandex worn my a journeyman plumber extolling the virtues of heterosexuality while worshipping an obviously gay biker.

Those were some of the best shows ever. I saw Crue there Maiden, Van Halen w/ DLR, Sabbath w/ Dio, AC/DC, Scorps, Metallica, tons more. I miss those shows. Shows nowadays suck dix in comparison.

it's shame like what's on that video that make
me reluctant to admit that I'm in to metal

most don't consider it to be taken seriously,
but it does reveal a large moron population
that i don't feel comfortable being labelled in to...

I think Dokken opend up? ...the good ole days at the Capital Centre.
I did see Van Halen w/Roth there too, as well as Triumph, Maiden, Ozzy, and a crap load of other bands. May even still have the stub from this concert. I remember getting high in the car, and some dude walked up and was like "You are busted!" ....and then gave me some flyer, or some shit.

Anyway, the concert sucked as I remember right... tried to get away from some chic for eh night, so I went to this show, only to find her 6 rows directly behind me at the concert, I was like "WTF MAN?!?"

i remember all the 80s chicks i always saw were strippers trying to impress the bands...

don't recall too many moo cows in spandex. guess around here it was an unwritten law in RR...

POLL QUESTION:
CAN KULL COME OFF LIKE A BIGGER JERKOFF?

I bet I quadruple the amount of shows youve seen. I'm talking real shows. not those ridiculous dime a dozen backyard euro fests with bands no one knows. Last time I checked I was over 450 shows. minus 101 for the ridiculous shows that I wouldnt count and I still bet I've been to more.

Turbo era priest was sad indeed. that was the NWOBHM's attempt to keep up with the sunset strip (fuckers). The strip fucked it up for everyone for a while. Fashion took a nosedive as did musicianship.

That are ripping on the hair and the clothes and all that are obviously young. Yeah, the clothes and hair were stupid, but around that time the whole atmosphere was a big party. It was all just for fun. Not like today where you have the fricking black metal pale white face painter satanic crowd- Yeah, that is really FUN.
I saw a priest concert in 87 and this is exactly what the parking lot was like. I wore ripped to shit jeans and bandanas. It was a good time.
