More Metal Luminaries To Appear At ROADRUNNER's 25th Anniversary Concert - Nov. 10, 2005
Jamey Jasta, host of MTV2's "Headbanger's Ball" and frontman for HATEBREED, has been confirmed to MC Roadrunner Records' 25th anniversary concert. The show will take place on Thursday, December 15 at the Nokia Theater in Times Square, New York City. Some of the special guests confirmed to perform include members of SLIPKNOT, MACHINE HEAD, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, BIOHAZARD, LIFE OF AGONY, FEAR FACTORY, SEPULTURA and TRIVIUM, who will join the already announced "core band" comprised of Joey Jordison (SLIPKNOT; drums), Andreas Kisser (SEPULTURA; lead guitar, Dino Cazares (ex-FEAR FACTORY, BRUJERIA; rhythm guitar), and Adam Duce (MACHINE HEAD; bass). Additional Roadrunner and non-Roadrunner affiliated special guests are set to be announced shortly. Tickets for this once-in-a-lifetime, mega-metal concert will go on sale this Saturday, November 12 through all Ticketmaster outlets. Tickets can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com, at their outlets across the country and via phone by calling 212-307-7171.

The year-long, multi-tiered celebration of Roadrunner Records' 25th anniversary culminates on December 15 for the biggest metal concert event of the year. Celebrating the best of the metal genre, the "core band" will perform 20-25 classic Roadrunner songs and several choice cuts from the "Roadrunner United: The All Star Sessions" album.

Released October 11, "Roadrunner United: The All Star Sessions" debuted at No. 76 on Billboard's Top 200 album charts. The album features 55 artists from 45 different past/current Roadrunner bands playing 18 original songs written by four chosen captains — Jordison, Cazares, Matt Heafy (TRIVIUM) and Robert Flynn (MACHINE HEAD). It is a true master-class in hard rock/metal that also includes a DVD that contains a full hour of behind-the-scenes footage on the recording of the album.

"Roadrunner United: The All-Star Sessions" features the first single "The End". Written by Cazares and featuring Heafy on vocals, the song is already catching fire at radio with adds at WBUZ in Nashville, WJJO in Madison, WBZX in Columbus, KILO in Colorado Springs, WIYY in Baltimore and more. The video for the song has received spins on both MTV2 and Fuse while the latter also aired an interview with several of the "All Stars", including Dez Fafara of DEVILDRIVER, Cristian Machado and Dave Chavarri from ILL NINO, Josh Silver from TYPE O NEGATIVE and Cazares. Additionally, Fuse aired a live performance of the Jordison-penned song "Tired & Lonely" which featured Jordison on drums, Keith Caputo (LIFE OF AGONY) on vocals, Nadja Peulen (ex-COAL CHAMBER) on bass, Matt Baumbach (VISION OF DISORDER) and Acey Slade (MURDERDOLLS) on guitars and Omar Clavijo (ILL NINO) on keyboards.

The label has also been celebrating 25 years through the release of several 25th Anniversary Special Editions of landmark Roadrunner records, including classic albums from MERCYFUL FATE, KING DIAMOND, SEPULTURA, COAL CHAMBER, SOULFLY, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE and others.

I've read interviews where Matt Heafy listed AFI and H.I.M as influences and it shows in Trivium. I think he mentioned that he had every H.I.M album or something like that. The band is AWFUL, and just because they can play (barely) some solos dosen't make them good. Total hardcore with a few melodeath and emo overtones.

I looked through that story and could find no mention of any "Metal" luminaries. Trendy, Gimmicky hacks perhaps might have been a better description.

Maybe we'll get lucky and Dino will eat a few of them.

Should have released some Exhorder, Annihilator, Obituary, Pestilence, Type O Negative, Carnivore and other 25th anniversary special edition packages rather than Coal Chamber...and Fear Factory.

The King Diamond and Mercyful Fate ones are all aces though.

Could be a good concert............Nah. Too much 'core' band bullshit.

and as the others have said before, Trivium sucks.

you said it man, this whole compilation CD/concert reeks of nu-metal-core. Didn't like the album, will aavoid the concert at all costs.

Like you said, something with some Exhorder, Annihilator, Obituary, Pestilence, Type O Negative etc. would've been much better. Pay tribute to the bands that MADE you, RR!

What difference do solos make? Unearth play them, as do Lamb Of God, they're ALL metalcore. Metalcore=

METAL

+

HARDCORE

Can you get that? Or are your math skills as bad as your english, you illiterate buffoon.

i hate this nonsense metalcore but trivium is pretty good. numetal was much better than this metalcore shit. even limp bizkit had done catchy songs with good melodies. but all the metalcore bands try to be the most aggressive band in the world and they cant come up with just one good slayer riff, or one maiden melody. so pointless.

avenged sevenfold understood this and they begin to write music in the meaning of "music".
