SLIPKNOT: '9.0 Live' First-Week Chart Positions Revealed

SLIPKNOT's first full-length concert album, "9.0 Live", has entered the national charts in the following countries: #17: USA #18: Austria #22: Canada #26: Australia #41: France #43: Switzerland #53: U.K. "9.0 Live" was recorded at shows in Singapore, Japan, and Las Vegas. SLIPKNOT had to cancel three New York shows and reschedule two Philadelphia gigs on their current tour following the death of percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan's father last month. The tour is SLIPKNOT's final round of shows in support of "Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)", which has sold 1.2 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. fuck 'em. Vol. 3 was shit. they've sucked live since Ozzfest 2004.
and Opeth, Cradle of Filth, Obituary, Soulfly, Killswitch Engage, Devildriver, Machine Head, Chimaira are all better bands than them, and that's just from their own label.
sad to see them hyped as the 'best' band on their label when nearly 10 bands on their label all outshine them these days, and that's just their label, not including probably dozens if not hundreds of other bands that currently blow Slipknot out of the water.

Can't get it out of the player in the car. Managed to irritate plenty of people as well. Some of the recordings are incredible, especially the Phoenix stuff is just insane.
I think this band has actually progressed rather well. The maturity in lyrical content has only been overshadowed by progressive musical direction. Looking forward to their next outing. I feel they've shed the novelty label people gave them in the beginning and expect a significantly relevant CD from the Knot in the future.
Bring on the Pain.

That said, Corey's voice has definitely lost a lot of it's ferocity. But sustaining the kind of intensity displayed during "Iowa" is something few vocalists can do. That's why so many metal bands scream so awesomely on their early records and slowly tone it down on subsequebt releases. That shit kills your voice. Still, I think the band, especially Joey, sound fucking awesome. Absolutely the best live album to come along in long time.

uh....Slipknot's vocals are not that intense. so many fucking bands can sustain harsher vocals better and much more ferocious than Corey's stupid ass can.
you wanna talk about sustaining throat shredding vocals, listen to something like At The Gates or Malevolent Creation or better yet.....try The Crown. listen to the albums 'Hell is Here' or 'Deathrace King' by The Crown and try to fucking tell me Corey from Slipknot is intense and be able to do it convincingly. didn't think so.

lol slipknot 9.0 live you would think with 9 people in the band (half of the band jerking eachother off) they could make decent music but this band has proved they are nothing more than nu-metal poop gwar had the masks first! :)

What the FUCK is everybody's deal with slipknot they are the best live band i've seen in a long time they always throwdown where as meshuggah sucked live how can any real metal fan even compare the two same thing with soilwork and opeth both of those bands suck ass live and on cd

Are a great metal band. Unlike some 'metal' bands *cough opeth cough* they know how to write an 'interesting' metal song that sticks with you and you want to hear again.
The sale numbers definately prove that blabbermouth does not speak for most of the world. :D

The live album 9.0 is pretty fucking cool, one of the best live albums in a while, it is not perfect, but no modern metal collection would be complete without LIVE 9.0.
I am not really concerned with the negative critics / poser assholes who disrespect this band.
I will be buying Slipknot CD and DVD, and attending Slipknot concerts over what any Slipknot critic may want to offer.
I can back my support here on blabbermouth with total conviction.
Because I own the 1995 debut "Mate Feed Kill Repeat". All 3 original pressings of "Slipknot" with Frail Limb Nursery/Purity 15 track affair, the version with Frail Limb Nursery being banned and the digipack that came later with 6 or so bonus songs, Iowa, 2 pressings of VolumeIII, the RoadrunneR/Island one and the Austrian 2 CD version. And The US version of 9.0. I will get the LIVE 9.O from RoadrunneR UK later on.
This 9.0 of LIVE CD will hold me over untill the New Dimmu Borgir Stormblast rerecording and the new Cradle of Filth DVD, hits the market place.
I never understood Moltovs hatred for this band, because he is a Messhuggah fan like myself. I have been a Meshuggah fan since 1991 when Contradictions Collapse first came on the marketplace when the band had a certain Testament/Metallica/Watctower/Alan Holdsworth vibe.
As far as I am concerned Slipknot and post - Condtidictions Collapse Meshuggah are in the same demographic of modern metal. Ask any retro-thrasher who lives in the past...I always been wanting Meshuggah to write a album that had more memorable parts like Metallica had on "Ride the Lightning" and "Master of Puppets", and Slipknot did on "Slipknot" and "Iowa".
So I find it strange and bizarre that a Meshuggah fan would slander Slipknot, especially when those bands have more in common, than you would think.
Long Live Slipknot ...!!

Everytime this band has a post on this site its the same. "They Suck....They are horrible". Volume 3 was a solid disk. Different? Yes, but not horrible. And yes, they are one of the best live bands out today. And anyone that talks shit about their Ozfest 2004 performances does not know what the fuck they are talking about. That said the live album is nothing special. Certainly not like the Slayer live disc or 101 Proof which IS the best heavy live disc ever.

I've been a Meshuggah fan since the Contradictions Collapse times too. Remember their first video "Abnegating Cecity" on the "Death Is Just The Beginning" VHS out on Nuclear Blast? It depicted the squalid life of a junkie very vividly and in the most non judgemental way. Great bands have got style, too.

Havent been a slipknot fan..... really ever, but I have given them credit whens its been due in the past (seldomly)
But Honestly, this live set.... is horrible
The music itself isnt played horrible... but Corey cant sing worth a shit on this album. Honestly, half the songs hes just mumbling. (listen to Sic.... try to make out a complete verse)
