BLEED THE SKY's Trailer With Equipment Stolen; Band Seeks Public's Assistance
- Nov. 14, 2005

While on tour with AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE, BLEED THE SKY had their trailer with all of our equipment stolen from a residence in Mableton (suburb of Atlanta) Georgia the night of November 13, or the early morning of November 14. They were scheduled to play shows through the end of this month.
The band has issued the following statement:
"We're in a rough spot and we're asking for help from anyone that can identify with where we're at. The support we’ve experienced so far from friends, family, fans, other bands, sponsors and within our record label etc. has been great, which we're eternally grateful for.
"As a message to our fans, be sure that this will in no way keep us from doing what we have been doing, we've built this band in the face of adversity, and rebuilding from what we lost will only make us stronger than we we're before."
The band is scheduled to begin a European tour with HATEBREED on December 2 in support of their debut album, "Paradigm in Entropy", on Nuclear Blast Records, and is asking for any information or help in leading to the recovery of their stolen equipment. The dollar value lost is estimated to be around $25,000 to $30,000. BLEED THE SKY are also accepting donations via PayPal and mail from their website at www.bleedthesky.com.
The band will be doing two or threee local shows (Southern California) before they leave to Europe to raise money. These dates will be announced within the next two days.

Anyone trying to move that stuff will be discovered pretty quickly. That stuff ain't cheap nor is it very common to have in that bulk. The CDs and Merch will be gone but everything won't end up on ebay.

I hate hearing stories like this. A group of guys busting ass, trying to make a living, and some fuck steals their livelihood right out from under them. You're assuming a pretty big risk by not insuring this kind of stuff, but when you're just scraping by as it is, how can a band at that level afford it. What kind of premiums do you have to pay to insure your equipment? Can it be claimed under a homeowners policy, or do you need some kind of seperate coverage?

Companies will normally not insure stage-used touring gear.
And if you COULD find someone to do it, the premiums would be so much that it would be ridiculous. It sucks but it's true. I can't say for sure but the big arena bands probably are insured quite well...the smaller guys are on their own...just like health insurance.

This sucks, but I guess that's what they get for stealing their sound from countless bands.

Remember, It could be custom ordered.. Alot of bands do this and also companies do it for musicians as a way of advertising.. I think you will find thats what Bleed The Sky have said was in the trailer. They wouldnt lie about that considering they want people to find it.
