CHILDREN OF BODOM: 'Are You Dead Yet?' Deluxe Edition To Include POISON, BRITNEY SPEARS Covers - Nov. 15, 2005
According to a posting on the CHILDREN OF BODOM fan site Scythes-Of-Bodom.com, a limited Japanese deluxe CD+DVD edition of CHILDREN OF BODOM's "Are You Dead Yet?" album is scheduled to be released in Japan on January 25. The content of the package is still a bit unclear, but at least the two cover songs "Talk Dirty To Me" (POISON) and "Oops I Did It Again!" (BRITNEY SPEARS) will be featured on the release. The DVD will have the making of "Are You Dead Yet?" plus a "fooling around" video called "COBHC - All Night Long", which was previously scheduled to be released on the Japanese special edition of "Are You Dead Yet?". It is rumored that this CD will also contain three live songs recorded on the band's last tour of Japan in October and that the DVD will contain the "making of" videos of "Trashed, Lost & Strungout" and "Sixpounder". However, this has not yet been confirmed.

CHILDREN OF BODOM have just launched a North American headlining trek with TRIVIUM and AMON AMARTH. The group's mainman Alexi Laiho also told MTV.com that the group hope to spend next summer as part of Ozzfest 2006.

As previously reported, CHILDREN OF BODOM will be releasing a DVD-single of "In Your Face" on November 23 via Spinefarm Records. It will feature the video of the title track and two bonus clips.

CHILDREN OF BODOM's latest album, "Are You Dead Yet?", was released in the U.S. on October 25 via Spinefarm Records. The album has been declared to be one of the first priority UMG international releases through Universal's Fontana Distribution system. The U.S. version includes a previously unreleased bonus track that is exclusive to the U.S. release — a cover of the RAMONES classic "Somebody Put Something In My Drink".

CHILDREN OF BODOM's fifth album, "Are You Dead Yet?" is the follow-up to 2003's "Hate Crew Deathroll", which has sold in excess of 200,000 copies worldwide.

No wonder those covers are better than their unispired, boring and generic “original” music.
Do they think themselves funny? I DON’T.
as I can see, they are trying to appeal to Spears' and Poison fans... bunch of sissies...

How fuckin' lame is that? And everyone talks about how great this band is....apparently not!

I like some of the guitar work, but the vocals suck!!! And covering Spears and Poison is kind of lame.

Sales mean nothing. And that's a lot of copies anyway. Jennifer Lopez and 50 cent must better than Children of Bodom because they sell more right? Wrong!

Btw i'll buy the limited edition, love Are You Dead Yet and COB.

I really dis-like these constant re-issues or "special editions". It sucks for the true fans that have the new album, that want to hear those covers; they are going to have to purchase the same album again. Why can't they release an e.p. or 2 track single. It's always In Flames, Ozzy, C.o.B,Kiss, etc...that do this stuff. I really see no point to this. They know that predominately metal fans don't have a shit load of cash everyday that they can drop on cd's all the time. Especially cd's they already own, for an extra special edition song or 2.

it's not lame for them to cover those two. for once, stupid fucking Poison might actually be listenable for once!

and as far as Children of Bodom being black metal....that debate's been going on for years. read older reviews or interviews in magazines from like the Follow The Reaper days, for example, and the writers are always asking questions about what genre they supposedly are, and they always would joke about how when they play live, they're ripped by black metal fans for being too light, and ripped by power metal fans for being too heavy....they always end up getting described as being power-metal-ish, sped way up, with black metal type vocals. at least i've read shit about that a few times in the past, i forget where, though.

assume that people think of COB as "black metal"? Seriously NOONE does, apart from UNBELIEVABLY IGNORANT people.
COB are not black metal and NEVER tried to be black metal!
They're melodeath with strong thrash influences in the riffing.
