MORTICIAN Frontman Facing Jail Time For Robbery, Assault On Police Officer

Poland's Gazeta Wyborcza is reporting that MORTICIAN vocalist/bassist Will Rahmer is likely to spend the next few weeks at a Polish jail while the prosecutors prepare an indictment against him for robbery with a dangerous weapon. The judges from the Polish town of Krosno Odrzanskie (where Rahmer is currently being held) have accepted a proposal from the prosecutors to detain Rahmer for up to three months in accordance with the Polish law. In addition to the charge of robbery with a dangerous weapon, the prosecutors will likely charge Rahmer for resisting arrest and assault on a police officer. Rahmer, 36, was arrested by the Polish police after he allegedly assaulted a taxi driver with a knife and stole a taxi cab following the group's performance in the Polish city of Zielona Gora on Sunday (Nov. 13). Rahmer reportedly called a cab after MORTICIAN's concert in Zielona Gora (which the other MORTICIAN members performed without Rahmer) and requested to be taken to the Berlin airport so that he could fly back to the United States. He allegedly paid the driver 200 euros for the ride, but apparently went berserk when he was unable to reach someone on his mobile phone. Rahmer allegedly proceeded to attempt to gain control of the vehicle, in the process causing a small cut to the cabdriver's neck with his knife. The driver managed to escape and contacted the police. He was subsequently taken to the hospital, where he received two stitches. In the meantime, Will stole the car and drove himself to the Polish/German border crossing in Swiecko, where he allegedly got into a scuffle with the authorities before being detained. At the time of his arrest, Rahmer was reportedly not carrying any additional cash or a valid passport. He was, however, in possession of at least one knife and a set of knucklers, according to Gazeta Lubuska. Speaking to the police through a translator, Rahmer apparently offered a very different account of what transpired to the version given by the taxidriver. MORTICIAN were in the middle of a European tour with BLOOD RED THRONE and AKERCOCKE when the incident took place. The group are said to be continuing the trek, with members of BLOOD RED THRONE and AKERCOCKE assisting with bass and vocal duties. Think about it, being in a forgein country, where this alcohol is legal ( unlike the states ) and then artist's like van gogh drinking absinthe, then cutting off his ear and mailing it to his girl friend, I think this fucker drank some absinthe and then went crazy.
Did you hear about the kids getting pulled over, and they had liquid acid in a mini breath asure bottle. The cop squirts it in his palm says this doesnt taste like breath asure, not knowing he just consumed like 8 hits of acid, he lets the kids go, and the cop ends up going to a donut shop, asking for a bear claw, they tell the cop they have none, he pulls out his gun, and starts shooting the joint up, cause he tripping his balls off on Acid!!!

Mortician rules. Yeah, there's nothing mindblowlingly original about their music but it still kicks ass. House by THe Cemetery, Darkest Day of Horror, Zombie Apocalypse, and Hacked Up For Barbaque are awesome albums. Plus, Will is a horror fanatic like myself so he's always cool in my book. Alot of this seems like bullshit, I hope he makes it back ok.

have any of you actually met wil rahmer? i have a couple of times and spoken to him online on other occasions, hes a really nice guy! shows nothing but respect, makes you feel safe. i saw mortician on the first day of the tour and he already wanted to go home, this shit is getting too much for him, on tour for almost a month, same thing every day, different location, can you fucking blame him?! he just wanted to go home, back to new york, and for those of you who thinks its drug related, he doesnt even take drugs! he does like his drink and from what i know about him, yes he has a short temper. i just wish him all the best!

As a close friend of Mortician's I have to say I am disgusted at some of the posts I have read. Just cause you don't like a band doesn't mean it's cool if one of the members is jailed...this is by no means "Cool" or "Metal" or a reason to rejoyce! just cause you don't like Mortician's music is no reason to be happy that he is in prison in a foreign country...he has family and friends that are worried about him and want him to return home safely. Now, I am not justifying what he did, but no one knows what really happened. Will has been nothing but cool to me for the last 10 years that I have known him. Don't talk shit about him and say stupid things like "good for him" because that's just plain fucked up! There are a lot of bands in this scene that I don't like, but I would never make such idiotic comments if something serious happend to a band or one of its members. You guys need to grow the fuck up!

Iago, everyone that knows Will (myself included) knows he is no angel, that's not what I was trying to say...he has gotten out of hand plenty of times when he's drunk, I can agree with you there. My point was that half of these posts are from people that think Mortician as a band sucks and for that reason alone it's a good thing that Will is in prison...just read some of the comments. Just cause he's done some stupid things while intoxicated is no reason to wish that he rots in prison in Poland. As I said before he has always been cool to me and as his friend I hope he is able to get out of this mess and come home.

He threatened to stab the taxi driver who was obviously driving him to the airport because he couldn't reach someone on his cellphone? knowing Will Rahmer to me he appears to be the type with commen sence not to be foolish and do something stupid like this especially over seas when he knows he would be in a world of big trouble,and knowing pollocks and their foolish ideas it possibly do to racial matters do to Wills metal head,etc appearance and such and just judged him do to that and that was it....but then again Will can be short tempered but mostly when he's drinking but I doubt he was drunk but just having a critical day not feeling well and such when this incident accured...so as of now this remains a mystery...I am awaiting for Wills words..and the rumours of him being on drugs are NOT true nor was he high or does this Absinthe liquire bullshit or any hard liquire either the way I see it!!.....As far as absinthe goes ...sure It maybe made "safer" now days but It still fucks your head all up big time like any street drug and its worse when it comes to a point you have to depend your life on it ...so to me its just the same and is very addicting like being on any street drugs (Ecstasy,crack,LSD,Marijauna you name it) and not something I reccommend to get started on and certainly not something to ever play around with that it is very flammable!!.. I know Killjoy (Necrophagia) is an avid fan of absinthe & praises the shit but he seems to be getting carried away with it now the way it looks and needs to lay off it now or cut waaay down on it if thats the case before he starts a huge fuck up in life or end up with other problems and then ends up regreting it ...He needs to be warned about this now before something does happen!!!... already I notice his mind is beginning to slip & deteriarate..and its all account of that. ..sux!!!!:(

thats right it is a strong liquire and was a very dangerous one once upon a time years ago that was made not properly with wormwood which is an actually poisonous herb and people died from it or went nuts from it and such and thats another reason why I compared it to crack and still do even these days depending on the person these days and ages but thats why its still illegal to sell in liquire form here in the states today and even though it has small amounts thujone now days and won't do damage in humans it still can be addicting people just seem to still get carried away or life depending which can still lead to brain damage (like ecstasy) especially when consuning large amounts for along period of time.....

and i cant believe this.. .Will is a calm guy , i know i dont know him well but my impression was that hes a calm person who likes to be in control of himself and not drinking execessive amounts of alcohol. I partied with the guys 2 days before this and they were pretty down to earth and calm people and had no problems talking to fans and such. I bet there is some huge misunderstanding and the cops and taxi moron prolly had extremely limited english language knowledge.

Poland IS a civilized country, with a fair justice system. He won't be sentenced just for looking "metal". Any human rights association would tell you that the US justice system is way more fucked up.

He and I are of similar sizes, I'm a little taller though. He's not very big, he's in good shape physically. He does take good care of himself, despite drinking too much.

True english is not my native language, i got 2 native languages so is difficult to say... anyway why is that important? obviously u can understand me... but is not difficult to see where i do come from if u look at my email Mr clever ;)
I dont do dates and how in hell can u say i am pretty if u dont know me?! im a pervert guy mate! and Ok u r big and good looking....
But you can not affirm he steals cabs... i dont defend him but i defend his innocence first!!! until proven guilty....
And if i can say anything... nobody knows whats on with will because he is arrested, as far as i know the news are there... but we can not hear what will have to say... and it looks like he has a different version.

and I am not the biggest fan of Mortician's music(but who am I to judge?)
After seeing Will weilding his knife at several fests.(always strapped to his belt,I am shocked he got it across the border!)I was shocked to learn that he is a soft spoken,polite guy.I admit that I was a little nervous sharing an elevator with him at The Ambassador in Milwaukee(the very hotel Dahmer killed some of his victims),but he was very friendly to my wife and I.
The wheelchair story is touching as well.I have a brother in a wheelchair and I have taken him to some shows and I think that is cool Will went out of his way for a handicapped fan.
Even the most compassionate people in the world have a dark side and it is usually unleashed by alcohol and drugs(whether he does them or not,who cares,alcohol can make people just as crazy as drugs if not more!)
He took a friend of mine to the art museum in New York for Satan's sake,how bad could he be?
