BOLT THROWER Condemn EARACHE 'Realm of Chaos' Reissue - Nov. 19, 2005
British extreme metal pioneers BOLT THROWER have posted the following message on their official web site:

"We would like to make it known that this re-release of 'Realm of Chaos' is by Arseache Records and done without our consent and against our permission.

"They are making money off the back of the new album, 'Those Once Loyal', as they have done previously with the release of 'Who Dares Wins', again released without our consent or permission.

"BOLT THROWER will see no royalties and the money will line the pockets of that lip-licker Digby Pearson [Earache head honcho]. It's a cheap shot, and quite sad to see how low a record company can stoop. Once they were good, now they are nothing. The new cover is not a patch on the original.

"We urge all loyal BOLT THROWER supporters to boycott this product...spread the word!!!!"

The remastered "Realm of Chaos" reissue is due out in the U.K. on November 21. The new version features new artwork commissioned from John Sibbick, who was responsible for the original cover.

BOLT THROWER's new CD, "Those Once Loyal", iwas released in Europe this past week via Metal Blade Records. The CD was recorded at Andy Faulkner's Sable Rose studios.

Earlier this year, BOLT THROWER announced the return of original vocalist Karl Willetts as a full-time member.

Willetts rejoined the group as the replacement for Dave Ingram, who left the band in August 2004 due to long-standing "health and personal problems."

"Those Once Loyal" is the follow-up to 2001's "Honour, Valour, Pride", which was the only BOLT THROWER release to feature Ingram on vocals.

But is it our fault that they signed a foolish clause in their old record contract that allowed the record to be property enough of Arseache so they could rerelease the record without the band's permission and give no royalties? I mean, I already have the original, but honestly if it was lost or stolen and couldn't find one on eBay, buying it in a record store seems a reasonable alternative. Be better businesspeople. *shrug*

Bolt Thrower is getting ripped off of probably a whole 200 bucks from the 30 fans they have world wide who are going to buy the reissue. How terrible, Pearson can now retire a wealthy man. lol

Get over it Bolt Thrower. Yeah, record companies are slime, we all know that, but it isn't like you are losing out on millions or even thousands of dollars on this.

If you never sell your soul then it can never be traded to the devil for a pack of smokes. Bolt Thrower had no problem using Earache back in the day to "make it big" or to sell more units. These are the pit falls of not staying DIY. If record, and produce it yourself then YOU have 100% control. Sure you probably will not sell as many units but you dont have to worry about getting on Blabbbermouth years from now and sounding like Lars. Who knows if Brian Slagel might get older and need some retirement cash. He may do the same thing to them. Maybe they could start an injured musicians club with Trent Reznor!

I've always been interested in buying their cd's but never got around to it. Everything that I've heard from them has been great and plus recent reviews have been praising ther recent release. "Those once Loyal" sounds like a good place to start.

I also wouldn't mind seeing them in concert if they ever came around her.

Btw, what is "Arseache Records" as it reads in the artlcle?

Dave Ingram kicked ass on HVP. Some of the sickest, most extreme gutteral growling ever put to tape! Either something's wrong with your hearing, or you just have bad taste. :-P

INGRAM RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bolt Thrower instructed Dave Ingram to replicate the vocals of Karl Willetts as best he could. If you didn't notice, his vocal style was considerably different on HVP than it is in Benediction. This is a testament to Dave's true talent to pull that kind of task off, and I think he did a stunning job. Obviously, Van Drunen (who I still love) didn't have the range or talent to do what Dave was capable of, so please give props where props are due.

karl is one of the best death metal vocalists IMO. he has clarity and power in spades. the new B.T is their best since the mid 90's easily, and the material flows better now than ever before. they are 'grooving' more now, but it helps the tunes move forward in a smooth, flowing motion that was sometimes lacking from their old stuff. great band. great album. worth the support.

D.I should have never been in B.T. his vocals on HVP let that album down BIG time.

Bolt Thrower... but they have stayed the course, which to me is commendable. Sure, they have classic albums and I don't listen to the newer albums as much, but at least they haven't sold out and to to their loyal fans (whether it be 30 or 30 million), they are true.

Always sad when labels lose their integrity, but it's a BUSINESS folks unfortunately, and Earache is most likely feeling the pinch as they have a dog roster now... I remember Mike Amott from Arch Enemy feeling the burn when Black Earth was re-released. For fans it can be a godsend if you no longer have the disc, but for the band, this can cut deep...
