BEATALLICA Bassist To Sit Out Fall Tour - Nov. 21, 2005
Bassist Kliff McBurtney of the Milwaukee-based BEATALLICA, a satirical mashup act whose hilarious schtick marries the songwriting prowess of the BEATLES to the deep-throated rock growl of METALLICA, has posted the following message on the group's official web site:

"At the beginning of November my wife, daughter and myself made a big jump and moved to the Seattle, WA area. This is something that we have been talking about doing even before I was in BEATALLICA. Due to a certain turn of events and family obligations we decided that the time was now or never. We really enjoy it out here and look forward to getting to know the people and area more. However, we do miss all of our family and friends back in the Midwest and there's no doubt about that.

"Which brings me to the important issue. Between just getting off the road/plane, trying to get my family's move completed and trying to get everything settled here in the Northwest I will not be able to go out on the upcoming late fall tour here in the States. It saddens me that I can't be out there, not only for the band but for all of the fans and friends that I was so looking forward to meeting. But when it comes down to it, family comes first, always.

"Have no fear though, the guys will have a great friend and musician along with them in my place this time around and I have every bit of confidence in the world that he'll show my ass up night after night! Treat him right because he's one of us. Get out there and get slammed!"

BEATALLICA recently received help from METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich in their dispute with the Sony Corporation over BEATALLICA's "unlawful use" of the group's compositions "without authorization or license." The case has since been resolved, with BEATALLICA being allowed once again to operate their web site, Beatallica.org, and continue performing their patented blend of BEATLES tunes in a METALLICA style.

Upcoming BEATALLICA shows:

Nov. 29 - Washington, DC - Black Cat
Dec. 01 - Baltimore, MD - Fletcher's
Dec. 02 - New York City - Knitting Factory

That's funny stuff right there. Beatallica is alot of fun to listen to. Singer sounds very much like James. I think that their drummer is better than Lars.....hehe(pretty sure I'll get flamed for that)

this is a pretty cool idea for a mix of sounds.
personally i've always wanted to do a covers album. mix like a Cephalic Carnage/Mortician/The Crown/Cannibal Corpse--mix and do death/grind covers of those pop-singers, boy bands, maybe do covers of random shit like Eye of The Tiger with blast beats and shit. with me doing Cephalic Carnage/Cannibal Corpse type vocals, of course. i've always wanted to do that. someday........

also.....hoping Detroit Red Wing Jiri Fischer will be okay. that was some freaky shit during tonight's game (had a seizure, game postponed). hopefully he'll be able to play again somewhere down the line....

MESHUGGAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
