KORN Take U.S. Soldiers To 'See The Other Side' On Special Trans-Atlantic Flight

KORN will take eight U.S. soldiers from London to New York next week for a few days of well-deserved leave which will culminate with the band's November 29 special pre-album release performance at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. The soldiers — who have served in either Afghanistan or Iraq and are currently on leave in Frankfurt, Germany and Venice, Italy — will join KORN and MTV Europe contest winners for this "See You on the Other Side", chartered flight and special performance in connection with the release of KORN's new album "See You on the Other Side", due out December 6 via the band's new global partnership with EMI/Virgin Records.
Says KORN: "We already have the private plane arranged and we were thinking, 'Who else can we bring with us to New York City besides the contest winners?' We just figured, 'Who really needs to get away and spend a few days in New York City?' So we thought it'd be cool if we were joined by some soldiers on the plane and bring them back to U.S. soil for a real taste of home and some U.S. rock and roll right after Thanksgiving. We're absolutely honored to do this."
At Hammerstein Ballroom, the band pumped from a summer of touring Europe and Russia that has seen them galvanize their international following, will preview songs from their upcoming seventh studio album and dig into their compelling and controversial body of work. This gig will be highlighted by a unique production created specifically for this show that will not be seen at any other KORN concert.
Meanwhile, KORN recently made their first-ever performance in a U.S. television studio (November 19) on "Saturday Night Live", performing their blazing single "Twisted Transistor" and their volatile hit "Freak On A Leash".

I work in music and have heard all their albums. I guess I'm just more picky. Korn could release an album of the sounds of dog shitting and 23075 people will be like 'FUCKING AWESOME!' whereas I need to be impressed.

KoRn sells in Europe pretty damn well.
There new album is set to be the best they've ever made -- there's been a few songs leaked and the songs are amazing.
They'll probably sell this CD more then the past 3, the single has gotten a lot of air play and people are all over it.

as much as i joke around about this band and I cant stand any
thing after Life is peachy. I've gotta give these guys kudos
for doing that for the troops as a veteran and recently im back as
a reservist again myself and being that I have been in hostile
environment like Iraq and plus those kids are living in tents
with little or no amnenties and for this band to take those kids
and get them away from it for awhile well that's is an honorable
thing to do. Hate the president and his stupid policies is okay
that is what me and my brothers and sisters are for to protect
your opinion but please thank a veteran esp someone from
WW2, Korea and Vietnam and today and so on with that I am
officially done bashing korn on any threads.

I'm from Europe. Korn hardly sell here, in fact they don't tour Europe, they merely play some dates in the UK and at festivals, THAT IS IT. And that's because their sales are REALLY bad. Btw i've heard the new Korn cd: It's utter crap.
The military sucks and so does anyone who's part of it/supports it/likes it. It only makes perfect sense that Korn would do a thing like that. After all scum gets along fine with scum.

From what I've seen/heard, KoRn is big in the UK/Austrailia, and a few other countries other then just the US.
And how could you have heard the CD, when it hasn't been leaked already? I highly doubt you've heard it, you're probably spewing out bullshit and hate.
It has gotten rave reviews from the few magazines who've reviewd it, and the 3 songs they released that didn't make the final cut of the CD are nothing short of phenomenol.
Sidenote: How can you hate on troops? You're a fucking waste of life.

Exactly, the UK and Australia ONLY, and they're getting LESS popular by the minute. "Rave reviews" mean nothing, a review is just an opinion and if the band is on a major label it's a BIASED opinion in 99% of cases, as record companies bribe journalists to get good reviews.
I hate troops because i hate war and warmongers. They're the one who "waste lives", not me.
And btw the "two month" tour in Europe was in small venues, playing to 2000 people max. Hardly successful don't you think??

I checked up on the CD being leaked, have yet to find it.
I've only heard nothing but great things, even from non-KoRn fans, especially with the last track of the album called "Tearjerker".
And they're gaining back popularity big time again, at least in the US. All I know is they were there in Europe for a while, have a bunch of fans there and in other countries, and that their new single is dominating the airwaves.
12 years have passed, and there best CD is now upon us, with a new sound -- they're "Here to Stay".

Shut the fuck up darkness. The b-sides are nothing short of simple as fuck and i consider myself a korn fan. Any kid with a 7 string and $12 million dollars could write the riffs. The only thing good is David's drumming.. he's double kicking a lot more.
The new CD has not leaked. The lyrics are plenty different from the usual "my life sucks".. its not evolved into "your life sucks, but dont let it get you down" and "hit that shit".. so now it's encouraging and sex.. instead of my life sucks.. and sex. It's also very melodic. Big fucking deal.
It's over produced, all the effects are in the mixing stage by the pop fucking producers.. it sounds gay. The guitars sound fuzzy as fuck. Why bother.
$12 million for this? The album better be 50x better than the b-sides to just be justified.
Lol, i bet munky wishes he had head to write all the riffs again. From the b-sides.. it shows.

The lyrics on the B-sides are genuis, along with the melodic stuff going along with it. Songs are pretty structured, and there all good riifs. If you knew anything about KoRn, you'd know Munky has been writing the guitar material for a while by himself now.
Luckily for me, I've heard about 5 songs off the actual CD -- and there amazing. "Tearjerker" is an absolute masterpiece, probably the best song they've ever done, along with "Hypocrites".
It's alright though, it'll sell like crazy, there's a lot of hype to the album, and it'll be good. The vocals and effects from the B-sides are really good.
Also, one song was made with the "pop producer". Ross Robinson produced most of the album, who's worked with some very good bands. It hasn't been leaked at all, just the B-sides.

I'm still hoping for Korn to blow my mind soon...
"Twisted Transistor" is not a good song nor a bad one. It's just a strange and boring tune and I except this new record to be more intriguing than this single.
I don't really hate Korn like many bashers out there do but I must say that after the release of "Follow The Leader" someting definitely changed in their sound.
And not always for the good.

do you follow orders at school or at work over there in europe
and I don't know what army your a part of perhaps the French
Army becuase they were historically always good at dropping their rifles and being target practice for the Germans. But
most people that are in the US military in general can stand
on their own two feet and it's a hard process to get in the military unlike
countries like Germany and Switzerland where someone over
18 doesn't have a choice and gets drafted. Like I said before
I don't agree what the president did over there he made a
mistake by invading one the more stabilized Islamic countries
in that region and now we will have a lebanon situation for years
to come becuase of his idiocy and the whole thing over here
about FEMA and the economy has pissed me off too. I just
thought that was a cool thing that anyone could do for someone.
It's just a way of life to me i reckon and I missed it not for
old glory and apple pie and all that bull shit it just for a few
years that's what i was a warrior and that something that most
folks just dont understand and if korn respects ppl like that
then I cant bash em anymore go ahead and flame away!
