DEF LEPPARD: Pour Some Bluegrass On Me - Nov. 26, 2005
DEF LEPPARD's official web site has been updated with the following message:

"With the upcoming [DEF LEPPARD] covers album 'Yeah!' (scheduled for release in March/April 2006), the band pays tribute to some of their musical heroes from their youth. But, it can also work the other way around: with 'Pickin' on Def Leppard' here's an album that pays tribute to DEF LEPPARD in a special way. The album features 11 classic LEPPARD tunes performed by CORNBREAD RED, and it's not the average kind of music DEF LEPPARD fans will be used to hear; all tracks are stripped down and performed bluegrass style with soaring harmonies, mandolin, banjo, dobro and guitar. You'll hear DEF LEPPARD in a fresh and inspiring light."

"Pickin' on Def Leppard" track listing:

01. Photograph
02. Foolin'
03. Bringin' On The Heartbreak
04. Rock Of Ages
05. Love Bites
06. Pour Some Sugar On Me
07. Animal
08. Armageddon It
09. Rocket
10. Hysteria
11. Let's Get Rocked

To Celine Dion's husband for giving you your career.

I am actually a fan though and the rock-a-billy versions of the songs sounded OK!

"In the dead of night... LOVE BITES!!!" Oh no wait that was something else.

...it's definitely Shania Twain's husband... lucky bastard. Mental note: set up surveillance camera in shower of Shania's New Zealand holiday house.

Anywho, as cool as Hayseed Dixie was, I can't find ANYTHING nice or positive to say about this, so I'm going to have to bow out now, before I have to scrape the bottom of the barrel and resort to "The Drummer from Def Leppard's only got one arm" jokes.

Mmm... Beer... c(_)

This should be interesting to say the least. It's all probably in good fun and I can't imagine it being any worse than say, oh I don't know, Def Lep's last 5 CDs. Matter of fact a fresh take on some of the oldies but goodies should be fun especially Bringin on the Heartbreak.

Expand your horizon's haters and slammers, you might actually enjoy it.

The British might have a mass freak out if they hear anything besides lame guitar and drums.

Er what? Like British artists didn't invent Metal - Page, Paice, Bonham, Blackmore, Iommi, Tipton... etc. If any modern metal artist says none of these people were an influence they are lying.

It was cool hearing "Love Bites" arranged this way since the song was originally intended to be a Country song.

"to Celine Dion's husband for giving you your career."

Mutt Lange is Shania Twain's husband, not Celine Dion's dude.

proving they have a sense of humor. If you do some research you'll se they also did Aerosmith, Green Day and Rolling Stones. So Cornbread Red is actually complimenting them.
