KORN Perform On Airplane For Contest Winners And U.S. Soldiers: Photos Available - Nov. 28, 2005
KORN took the art of live performance to the next level today when they became the first multi-platinum rock band to perform a set while at 37,000 feet on board a transatlantic private aircraft en route to New York from London.

The audience was made up of European MTV contest winners and eight U.S. soldiers who have served in either Afghanistan or Iraq and are currently on leave in Frankfurt, Germany and Venice, Italy. This mind-blowing five-song electric performance — part of the band's "See You On The Other Side" contest in connection with the December 6 release of the album of the same name — occurred while the plane was flying over Iceland and Greenland and included the band's hits "Blind", "Freak On A Leash" and "Got The Life". Lead singer Jonathan Davis sang through the airplane's PA system, while band members James "Munky" Shaffer, Fieldy and David Silveria performed using battery-powered amps.

Check put pictures of KORN's special airplane performance at Wire Image.

Tomorrow (November 29), the Grammy-winning, modern rock icons who've sold over 25 million albums will take over New York City with a special performance at Hammerstein Ballroom, where they'll preview songs from their upcoming seventh studio album "See You On The Other Side" and dig into their compelling and controversial body of work. This gig will be highlighted by a unique production created specifically for this show that will not be seen at any other KORN concert. This one-off gig will be taped for an MTV2 half-hour special which will air December 3 at 9:30 p.m. and December 6 at 10:30 a.m.

The U.S. soldiers and MTV Europe contest winners who traveled with KORN on the "See You On The Other Side" chartered flight will also join the band for this special performance in connection with the release of KORN's new album via the band's new global partnership with EMI/Virgin Records.

In other news, KORN recently made their first-ever performance in a U.S. television studio (November 19) on "Saturday Night Live", performing their blazing single "Twisted Transistor" and their volatile hit "Freak On A Leash". The episode, hosted by Eva Longoria, received the show's highest rating of the season.

Yeah I bet a show on a plane would be awesome, excet that they stole the idea from maiden. Who was it, probably bruce said he'd like to do a show in an airplane, and that was said pretty recently, like late summer.

Three mice were sitting in a bar, each trying to impress the others with how tough they were.

The first one said, "When I see a mousetrap, I deliberately set it off, bench press the bar fifty times, then snack on the cheese."
The second one, not to be outdone, said, "Yeah? Well, every morning when I get out of bed, I stir in some cream and rat poison in my coffee. It gives me a good buzz that really wakes me up and gets me going."

They both look at the third mouse who, after a few seconds, gets up and says, "I don't have time for this bullshit. I've got to go home and fuck the cat."

a numetal band performing on airplane.thats like annoying elevator music.I think the people on the plane would be more focused on the not plane not crashing than actually pay attention and listen to the band.

At those high altitudes and high atmospheric pressure, can the sound still be amplified the same way as on the ground. I mean everybody's ears get clogged when their on a plane so it makes it sound more "filtered" if the band plays. Im not making any fucking sense but the idea sounds kinda cool. If it was Motorhead on the plane, the blast of the music would of destroyed everything to pieces

i hope it doesnt have that effect ...... metal in general would be exploited ........ and kids that wear all the fuckin $500 shirts will think that they are metal ....... thats what happend when nu-metal arrived ... its ok as an underground subgenre in the inner cities wear rap and rock mix ...... but i dont think it blends well anywear else .......

Over 25 million records sold total......hmm....ya they must suck. I didn't know over 25 million records sold makes you such a shitty band. I respect any band or group that can sell that many records weather I like their music or not. That is a lot of goddamn records sold. It irritates the shit out of me looking at most of these negative blabbermouth comments. You seem to talk shit about the bands that sell the most records or are the "mainstream" bands. Let me let you in on a little something. The word mainstream doesn't mean shit. It just signifies that you obviously write great music because millions of people are buying your records. It's that simple. What I do understand is there is alot of immature 14, 15, 16 year olds that come on here and talk shit because most of you don't understand the true meaning of good music. See i'm a musician and it runs in blood. I listen to mainstream bands because I see the talent in their music and talent appeals to me. I don't plan on listening to mainstream music, the music I listen to falls in that "catagory" because it is good. Screaming my balls off through a song for 3 1/2 minutes on every song 12 different times on an album with the same riff, isn't talent and that is why they are "underground." But don't get me wrong because I enjoy some "underground" music as well. For instance, I think Hatebreed is a very talented band. I like their music because Jasta's screams are sick and it sends chills down my back. I know they aren't that underground, but these classifications are just cliques. Whenever you guys come on hear and bash a band that is selling millions of records, honestly, you are the one that looks stupid. And to the "underground" supporters who absolutly hate mainstream music....If you were in your own band and wrote great music and had the chance to get radio play and get big, would you take the chance or would you swallow your pride because....Oh I hate mainstream music because it sucks and I don't want to suck. Come on. My point in this is just remind people what music is all about. It's not about "mainstream" or "underground".......so if your listening to "underground" music because you truly love that music than I have nothing but respect for you and I would never bash you for you listening to what you truly love to listen to. But if you are an "underground" supporter who hates "mainstream" music only because it's "mainstream" take a second to think about whatever negative comment you are about to post and think......wait...will this comment i'm about to make about this band who is selling millions of records make me look stupid and immature and not a true fan of music because I don't see it for what it really is? This post is by no means bashing anyone, it is just reality of it all and i'm trying to open it up to you. Everyone has there own tastes which is great. But just because someone listens to a Korn album doesn't mean they should "die in a plane crash" or "fall off the face of the earth". All I ask is to like music for what it is to yourself and don't make distastful comments about a band who obviously has true talent. I hope I can speak for some people with this post because I know you are out there. So go ahead and bash me if you want but if you do you will once again look immature because by NO means am I trying to come down on anyone at all!!!!!!!

Peace, and much respect to all of you!

I really don't care what you can do with or without. I wasn't hear to make you any more negative then you really are. I'm a grown ass man just trying to prove a point and with the last two posts, I rest my case. I just don't understand why you have to throw out a fuck you. Did I offend you? Did I insult you? NO! That just goes to show (after I even mentioned it) that you still look like a fool by posting "fuck you" and "we can do without a thesis". Whatever, telling someone "fuck you" over a computer post looks ridiculous anyways. I'm not offended what so ever by that. Oh well, i'll sure i'll be seeing your pointless fuck you's again.
