According to Deep-Purple.net, BMG will be releasing two full shows from guitarist Ritchie Blackmore's last tour with DEEP PURPLE — recorded in Stuttgart and Birmingham in October/November 1993 on "The Battle Rages On" trek — as a four-CD box set. Both shows will be completely unedited and will make up for any disappointment that fans felt when the original "Come Hell Or High Water" CD was released eleven years ago. The four-CD set, "Live In Europe 1993", is now scheduled to ship during the first week of March. The track listing is expected to be as follows:
Show#1:
01. Highway Star (8.30) 02. Black Night (4.58) 03. Talk About Love (4.13) 04. A Twist In The Tail (4.24) 05. Perfect Strangers (6.50) 06. Beethoven (4.49) 07. Jon's Keyboard Solo (6.41) 08. Actually the guy that sucks on the original Come Hell Cd was Gillan. He's hoarse and out of tune throughout much of the CD....while except for Highway Star....where he completely butchers the solo...Blackmore is brilliant on those recordings. Gillan's bad singing is the reason Blackmore split. It must be something about Ritchie that messes up Ian's voice...because both times I've seen him in 98 and 2004 his voice was awesome. I hope that maybe this new release will have better versions of Highway Star and better singing from Gillan as I've heard there were some smoking hot shows on that tour.
