AC/DC: 'In The Begining' Early Live Recording Not A Hoax After All - Dec. 5, 2005
According to a posting on the AC/DC fan and collectors site AC/DC Highway To Hell, the previously announced bootleg LP containing the earliest known AC/DC recording in existence has now actually been proven to exist, and is an actual release, despite previous reports to the contrary. Apparently released by some bootleggers in Europe, this mega-rare AC/DC recording had been obtained and put on vinyl LP.

The LP, entitled "In the Beginning", was recorded at the Hampton Court Hotel in Sydney, Australia in March 1974 with the lineup of Angus Young (guitar), Malcolm Young (guitar), Dave Evans (vocals), Neil Smith (bass) and Noel Taylor (drums).

"In the Beginning" (view artwork at this location) track listing:

"Vol.1":

01. Soul Stripper
02. No particular Place To Go
03. Stay For A While
04. Carol
05. It's All Over Now
06. Jumpin' Jack Flash
07. Rock & Roll Singer

"Vol. 2":

01. Blue Suede Shoes/Shake Rattle & Roll/Tutti Frutti
02. Rockin In The Parlour
03. Bye Bye Johnny
04. Lucille
05. All Right Now
06. Baby Please Don't Go
07. Honky Tonk Women

The album was professionally remastered, and comes on various muilti-blend colored vinyl in a custom sleeve. Both volumes are issued on multi-colored vinyl and are limited to 200 copies worldwide.
The "Volume 2" version (which contains the second half of the set) should be available soon as well, and likely coming from Australia or New Zealand.

It would be cool if they didn't make the same 15 records over and over. But they got one good record.

I have a video of AC/DC with Evans singing Can I Sit Next To You Girl.
Bon's better.
Malcolm has some yellow jest thing on, Angus is angus, the bassist is in all silver, and Evans is galmmy and a little fruity. BUt AC/DCwise it's a good historical clip. To bad it wasn't on family jewels.

They've made the same 16 records over and over, not 15. That's a direct quote from Angus when someone asked him the exact same thing.

The Bon Scott Yahoo group recently posted a message about this bootleg. Someone there asked Dave Evans himself about the recording and this is what he had to say:

Dave Evans-
"There was a couple of copies of a very bad live
recording of a gig we did at the Hampton Court hotel
that a few people had. I don't know what label this is
on and I have not even seen what it looks like. I
certainly have nothing to do with this release as it
is so bad that it is not worth listening to anyway."

"If it is the one I used to have and
since got rid of then it is not worth listening to
anyway as the recording was garbled and unintelligable
and not worth spending any money on."
