QUEEN Guitarist BRIAN MAY Picks Up Royal Honor

ContactMusic.com is reporting that QUEEN guitarist Brian May received his Commander of the British Empire (CBE) honor from Queen Elizabeth II at her London residence today (Dec. 6).
May, 58, last visited Buckingham Palace in 2002, when the band performed Britain's national anthem "God Save the Queen" on the roof of the royal building.
At today's meeting, the Queen referred back to May's performance for her Jubilee (50-year reign) celebration, saying, "It's a bit warmer down here than on the roof, isn't it?"
May says, "She was very charming.
"(Freddie Mercury) would have loved it. He would have been here. I think Fred's very proud."
Original QUEEN frontman Mercury died of an AIDS-related illness in 1991.

Brian is a phenomenal great guitarist...a walking legend...too bad Freddie wasn't around too see it(or maybe he's in spirit!)

whats with all the old bands riping people off (then justifing it)IT DOES NOT TAKE MILLIONS TO PUT ON A ROCK SHOW !!!a couple hundred bucks is just too much!! an average person just cant afford it,(and then you wonder why rock / metal is not what it used to be, because the old bands that helped create it are now destroying it!!
