Reports Of New GUNS N' ROSES 'Best Of' Album False? - Dec. 9, 2005
According to a posting at So Hood Magazine, a Geffen spokeswoman has shot down rumors that the label plans to release a GUNS N' ROSES "greatest hits" double-disc CD, called "Welcome to the Jungle - The Very Best of Guns N' Roses", in December. The spokeswoman told So Hood Magazine no such album is on the label's rosters for release. Speculation about the rumored CD has been circulating around the Internet for weeks, with major sites, including Amazon.com and Billboard.com, posting reports that the album would hit store shelves on Dec. 20. The spokeswoman called these reports ''incorrect.''

The first GUNS N' ROSES hits collection, released in March of 2004, has sold 2.56 million copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundsScan. GUNS N' ROSES vocalist Axl Rose, along with former guitarist Slash and ex-bassist Duff McKagan, tried to block the release of "Greatest Hits" with a lawsuit, claiming that the record label had assembled the CD without their input.

The band's label, Geffen Records, insisted that it was forced to put out a greatest hits album since Axl Rose had failed to deliver the long-delayed new GUNS album, "Chinese Democracy".

Axl: "Look - Fortus just got here to finish the record. It'll be on your desk on Tuesday, I promise."
And the circle continues.
I expect another hits album announcement though next year. And repeat.

Velvet Revolver (which I like) is the closest we'll ever get...

IDIOT GUY: "want something worth of your hard earn money, go buy enemy of god from the masters of germany KREATOR."

Ok, maybe you're right but since this is a "Rock" news, WTF are you doing comparing GNR with a band like Kreator? That's like saying to Rod Steward fans "If you want real music, listen to Sepultura" I mean what's your point dumbass ;-)

More IDIOT GUY stuff: "fuck that trendy music.they are gay so are their music.except appettite!!!!"

Trendy???? Trendy??? Trendy?????
Woah man what planet are you from kid?
The Use Your Illusion 1-2 albums were NO Trends, dumbass. And they were release like a million years ago. When it came out it was cutting edge in its own style. Dude you're all over the place. Stick to what you know.

I agree wholeheartedly with the comment above about "Appetite..."

GNR had one amazing album: Appetite for Destruction

Everything else was mediocre at best. The Use Your Illusion albums were pompous, over-the-top, completely unecessary musical wankery to fulfill the ego of one Mr. Axl Rose.

To this day, I still get goosebumps when I hear the intro to "Welcome to the Jungle" (particuarly at Cincinnati Bengals games......WHO DEY!!!!!!!)
"Appetite for Destruction" has, and will, go down in history as one of the greatest albums ever written. Period.
The rest of GNR's catalogue? bleh......

I think after "Appetite...", GNR was doomed for mediocrity, and eventually its own demise....

The 5 young, ambitious, and hungry gentlemen that made "AFD" were not the same group of guys that wrote "Use your Illusion".
GNR lost their fire with the success they achieved. And when a band loses the fire....its all over, my friends. Just look at Metallica. When a band has nothing left to prove, it has nothing left. A similar situation happened with Dave Mustaine. After Cryptic Writings, Mustaine let it go.... he was content with his success. He was no longer chasing the spectre of Metallica's success. Hence, we had Risk and the World Needs a Hero.
But after Mustaine's (fill in the blank________) accident/injury, he was able to regain that fire that sparked him to succeed when he was 20 years old, and hence, we had The System has Failed.

GNR was never able to regain that spark, and sadly, never will.

Cheers and beers for all my friends.

Re, about APETITE, I can only agree with you guys... and I'm not even trying to talk up whatever material GNR have been working on. I'm just saying this dude's post is moronic [about GNR and Kreator, I mean wtf].

Well, ok I'll talk up GNR for once. UYI 1&2 weren't that bad. There are killer songs in there (if not all of em have something cool about em).

BUT I kinda lost track of this band's career when they really fucked it up in Montreal... that night JAYMZ HETFIELD caught on fire and was rushed to the hospital... Faith No More was completely ignored... and stupid AXL Rose ran away into his limo after only 20 minutes of showtime... And never apologized or anything... Only Metallica had the decency of coming back months later with a "half price" return show...

Faith No More = are part of the reason we have rap n' nu-metal today...

Now i know and I realize Patton is god to some of you folks
but
ya gotta remember the 3 founding godfather of hip-hop metal-
(LIKE IT OR NOT):

1)AEROSMITH

2)ANTHRAX

&

3)FAITH NO MORE

I know Patton wants no part of this scene
but
he can't hide!!

That is just like Zakk Wildd used to be glam -
He may be a tough biker beer killer now-a-days but back when he very first joined Ozzy he was straight glam.

sorry ...truth hurts;-)

but some of the shit that comes flying out of your brain just boggles my mind.

"Coma" being the greatest song ever by any band?
Sorry man....can't even begin to see where you're coming from on that one.

On a side note....anyone else have the problem of being to tired from work (or playing Dungeons and Dragons for some of you)to head out with friends earlier in the night...but around midnight you get a second wind and realize you should have gone out in the first place, but instead you're on Blabbermouth? Faith No More, Aerosmith and Anthrax and even Red Hot Chili Peppers may have done Rap Rock/Metal first, but I would believe Korn, Rage Against The Machine and Red Hot Chili Peppers had way more influence on Nu-Metal/Rap Rock/Metal than Faith No More, Anthrax and Aerosmith did since it is far more pallatable to those idiot kid's taste.

worst record he has ever done next to his live shit with Rahzel. I don't mind Hip Hop when done well. It's like all forms of music. The shit you hear the most is usually the worse the genre has to offer, but Patton can't rap and has not a ounce of rhythmic soul in his cracker frame. I would suggest you to at least try and...not generalise hip hop and even rap or whatever the difference is. It would be like saying all hard rock sucks because it all sucks when I hear it on tv and radio.
