...has a better chance than anyone of convincing Ozzy to participate in a new Sabbath album. It's ironic and sad that Ozzy's mainstream popularity and annual festival tour, which originally brought Sabbath to a wider audience, have eventually become an obstacle to the band's progress.

I'm also dying to see the release of Beyond Aston. Give us the goodies, Bill!

As he ages, Ozzy has become a less consistant performer. No one can dispute that. HOWEVER, despite his more frequent cancellations and off-nights, he can still deliver a surprisingly high-quality performance sometimes. We all wish to be judged on our best rather than our worst, don't we? I've seen Ozzy 23 times (including 6 times with Sabbath). There have been some sub-par nights as well as some brilliant ones. How many times have YOU seen Ozzy??

I'm sorry, but I getting tired of hearing people say Ozzy can't cut it when they've only seen him a couple of times from the back of the fest, or because Ozzy happened to cancel in THEIR town. I've had Ozzy cancel on me once in '86, once in '96, and once in 2001. So what? These things happen over the years.

I know I'm more forgiving than most and I feel bad for those who got shortened, cancelled, or sub-par sets last summer. I know I was lucky to see one of the early Ozzfest 2005 dates where the set list was complete and Ozzy was in great shape.

I also notice that, amidst all the negative comments regularly posted here, nobody ever mentions Ozzy's 2003 Canadian tour where his shows lasted for 2 hours and 50 minutes (except the last night in Quebec city, it was only 2 hours and 40 minutes because they dropped Desire and Miracle Man). That's almost three hours - and Ozzy wasn't very healthy at that time either! I never thought this would have been possible (Even back in the 1980's, I never saw an Ozzy show last longer than 1 hour 30 minutes). Seeing some of those long shows sure showed that Ozzy has more to offer than one might guess by reading all the continuous Ozzy bashing here.

I'll see you all at the Ozzy/Sabbath shows in the Northeast. Ozzy bashers who don't attend will not be missed.

I was at the Toronto show and was shocked, Ozzy can still get the job done.
