Former THE CULT Bassist Says He Hasn't Been Approached To Take Part In Reunion - Dec. 14, 2005
Former THE CULT touring bassist Billy Morrison (now the guitarist in CAMP FREDDY) has shot down reports that he has been approached to take part in the band's rumored reunion in 2006. Morrison, who is currently involved in a top-secret project involving several "name" musicians, has stated about the possibility of reuniting with his former bandmates, "The rumored CULT reunion for next year is NOT what I have been working on, although it could get in the way of the [secret] project!! And don't ask if I will be a part of THE CULT thing, because I have no idea. THE CULT is Ian [Astbury, vocals] and Billy [Duffy, guitar] .... and that's it. As well it should be — they wrote the songs. They use other people to fill out the band, and my last period in the band was a lucky one for me, because I got to do all the fun stuff, like the interviews, TV etc. But who knows what they plan to do this time around. Either way, I love those guys, and I love that band. More CULT is always a good thing. But we will have to see what it means for 'Project X'. For now, we keep recording."

THE CULT went "on hiatus" following a split with Lava/Atlantic Records, who released the band's acclaimed 2001 CD, "Beyond Good & Evil".

Been a fan of the Cult for a long time. Got to see them twice in 2001. Once headlining, and the other opening for Aerosmith. We paid like 140$ Cdn for Aerosmith/Cult tickets basically just to see The Cult.

how many times have they 'reunited'?

Maybe they could tour with Velvet Revoler to help Matt Sorum lose some weight.

I dig the Cult but Ian must grow back his hair if he hasn't done it yet. I agree the Morrison thing is really insulting if there is a legend that should not be fucked with its Jim Morrison. Cult reunion cool....

Lil Devil's you....

in 2001....Saw them here in Nashville. I always thought Eric Singer would be a great drummer for them. "Beyond TGaTE"...what a killer album. Glad they are thinking about a reunion...

Ian Astbury got back to his real band. The Cult are great, and the Sonic Temple line up is the best they ever had. Bring it on!

Billy Duffy is also one of the best guitar players I have seen live. Super tight playing but with loads of feel as well.
