WAR CRY.US singer Rich "Roar" Rozek (ex-WAR CRY) has announced that, like actor Michael J. Fox, he has been dealing with the effects of Parkinson's Disease. Parkinson's Disease is a neurological disease that kills brain cells that produce a chemical that controls your muscles. As the disease progresses, there could be tremors, rigidity of the muscles, slow movement, and a loss of balance.

With all the media coverage WAR CRY.US is getting due to the release of their CD "Eerie Lullabies", Rich felt the news of his disease was bound to come out eventually, so he decided to make the announcement first. When asked how he feels, Rich stated, "I feel very good. I have great doctors watching over me, and my doctor has commented that singing and performing will help slow the progression down."

Rich also added, "The best thing for me is doing this CD. My voice is stronger than ever. They tell me I'm in the second stage. No pun intended if Ozzy reads this, although we love to be on the second stage at Ozzfest.

"I feel lucky to have a disease somewhat controllable. I would like to meet and thank Michael J. Fox for bringing this terrible disease out into the public, and doctors feel real strong about there being a cure sooner than later.

"I think what helps Mike get through this is knowing that his foundation is donating money for research, and he has done all he can to let people know about PD."

I've been dealing with this for almost two years — it feels good to get it out. I know there will be a cure… right now for me it's singing and playing metal again with WAR CRY.US!"

Like the Michael J. Fox Foundation, Rich has started a not-for-profit organization called PFORCE! "It stands for Parkinson's Foundation of Out-Reach, Care & Encourement!" he explained. "I wanted to put something together that motivated a person to try harder and not just give up. We want more face-to-face, one-on-one interaction. Instead of giving our profits for research, we would like to go see the person and just bring them what they need. Another portion will go towards public awareness. My goal is to also put out a compilation CD where the artists involved contribute the money made from the sale. Hear that, all you metal labels and signed bands out there!"
