Former ADEMA Frontman Resurfaces In MIDNIGHT PANIC: Audio Available - Dec. 15, 2005
Former ADEMA singer Mark Chavez (half-brother of KORN's Jonathan Davis) has resurfaced in a brand-new band called MIDNIGHT PANIC. The band’s self-titled debut album will be released independently in a limited edition of 5,000 copies later in the month, with a full-fledged release to follow in early 2006. Two songs from the upcoming CD — "Give Me One Chance" and "Celebrate" — can be heard online at this location. The album's first single, "Tonight is Our Last Night", is currently in rotation on 106.1 KRAB in Bakersfield, CA.

MIDNIGHT PANIC is:

Mark Chavez - Vocals/Keyboards
Peter Shubert - Guitar
Mike Montano - Bass
Matt Low - Drums

Regarding how the band came together, Chavez recently said, "MIDNIGHT PANIC started on an afternoon out at my studio in Bakersfield. Matt Low started working with me on programing different loops and music, which got things off the ground! I found Matt while producing a band that he was in, we worked really good together. Things just kept getting better and we decided to do a band. The first name we had was STATE OF MIND, but then we found out that there was already a band that had that name so we changed it to MIDNIGHT PANIC. My cousin the guitar player Peter Shubert started coming around and we got some songs together. I liked what he brought to the table because I always wanted a punk feel to the music and that's what he brought! We had a lot of music together but we needed a strong bass player. I called my longtime friend Mike Mantano and he came out to check out the music! He loved it, and ironically Mike was the very first bass player that I had in ADEMA back in 1998. We disbanded that ADEMA in '99 but everything happens for a reason! All of the things that I just said happened in the last 6 months. We worked our asses off and got the record written and recorded! Here we are now and we aren't looking back."

Has he learned how to sing yet? I saw ADEMA live by accident once, and for the love of god if nothing else I just hope he starts to lipsynch.

I hought they died a long time ago, at least they should've.

Hopefully, we'll be able to watch their demise in the nearest future.

But still I cant understand why balbbermouth posts about such "bands" and "artitst"...

these "left behind" nu metal dudes who are still trying desperately to hang on...they're time in the spotlight has obviously been up for a couple of years now, yet they still try to do it on their own...pushing unoriginal music from a genre that has long since died out...adema was very forgettable (even by nu metal standards), but still somehow made it relatively big...for this guy to do it again is highly unlikely...

I'm sure I'm the only one in on blabbermouth with this opinion, but I liked Adema when they had this singer.

Their replacement singer was too boring, at least this guy has a unique voice.

I like this new band and hope they get signed.

It sounds similar but not the same.

Either way, it's more memorable than the guy that replaced him.

sorry to say but nu-metal has now been replaced by shit that is even worse and that is "mallcore" or whatever its supposed to be called and lets not forget "emo" my god. I used to love Swedish death metal back in its prime when At The Gates, In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Carnage, Entombed, etc were rocking my ass off now there are about a million bands that haven't even made one song even half as good as any of the above band's worst song in their prime. I am sick of Shadows Fall, Killswitch, As I Die, and the like as pretty much every metal band getting attention is the same band boring guitars and horrible vocals. I am sorry but the older I get the less I really care for screaming vocals at least nu-metal had a few bands here and there that could sing once in a while. I don't even want to get into emo and the whole screaming like you are getting punched in the balls and singing just the same. No man but King Diamond can pull off such high vocals and those guys just sound plain ridiculous and off key as it is. The real metal is still out there and it never died but of course it is still in the underground even though there is a lot more light on the underground at the moment. I was happy to see metal start to come back in the mainstream but now I am not because it is full of unoriginal clone bands and it sucks. All I can hope is that the fans of these bands use them as a stepping stone to get into other better bands who deserve to sell albums because they offer something unique.

but nu-metal as a style is here to stay. In fact for the most part nu-metal has gone underground. Like most musical styles it will always have its enthusiasts. I personally like all kinds of metal. I am with longsicedark 100 percent. I like vocalist who can sing. Heck, I even enjoy the groove that a lot of Nu-metal has. Another thing I like about nu metal is how diverse it is.

Mudvayne sounds nothing like KoRn which sounds nothing like Disturbed...
In fact I sometimes think that most of you call anything that you don't like nu-metal.

Oh! I forgot in order to be cool you have to wear stupid looking corpes paint and have a vocalist who sounds like Gollum.

Like it or not, it's here to stay, just like pop-punk. I can't stand it either but I also choose to ignore it and listen to bands that offer "ME" some real musical creations. I don't get all the black/doom/death metal stuff but I also don't bash on it. It is music, just not my taste. That can be said about everyone our 'rents listened too and generations before them listened to. It has it's place. All the bashing you people do on here is insane. Instead of bashing go learn to play something and then make us all some "REAL" music to listen too. Stats say humans spend so much time in the bathroom, kitchen ect. I wonder how much time of the bashers life is wasted on bashing when they could be LEARNING TO PLAY AN INSTRUMENT and WRITING THEIR OWN MUSIC!!!

It was emotional, and definitly hit you in the chest if you could relate. Everyone is hitting on midnight panic because they can't either relate to the music, or never liked the genre. So why don't we stop bashing on a band because we hate the genre all-together. I have always been a fan of Mark Chavez and his amazing voice and he is unique, if you think he sounds like his brother, think again. Though they might be half-brothers, their styles are TOTALLY different.

I hope Midnight Panic makes it big, and I also hope that Mark Chavez gets the attention he deserves.

I don't care what anyone says, Adema sounded much better with Marky. This new guy Luke makes it sound more mainstream. Don't get me wrong, Adema is still cool. But without Marky, it just doesn't sound the same. I'm excited about Marky's new band and I hope that they are a success.
