SEPULTURA's 11th full-length album, "Dante XXI", is due in early 2006 via SPV Records. The CD was recorded at Trama Studios in São Paulo, Brazil, where the group had previously laid down the "Revolusongs" EP, which contained cover versions of songs from such acts as MASSIVE ATTACK to HELLHAMMER to JANE'S ADDICTION (and was included in the limited-edition digipack version of 2003's "Roorback").

Working under the watchful eye of producer Andre Moraes (with whom they've previously worked on various Brazilian film soundtracks), SEPULTURA's follow-up to "Roorback" is based on the epic poetic masterpiece "The Divine Comedy" written by Italian author Dante Alighieri in the early 14th Century. The three main components of "The Divine Comedy" are Dante's descriptions of Hell, Purgatory and Paradise.

In addition to the 10 tracks that are set to appear on "Dante XXI", SEPULTURA recorded two cover songs — JUDAS PRIEST's "Screaming for Vengeance" and SICK OF IT ALL's "Scratching the Surface" — which will be released as single b-sides in the future.

Is this what has become of SEPULTURA.....I remember they suported SODOM in 1989, they used to be good then, now they would be blown off stage by SODOM!

I reckon you never saw Sepultura.

They would blow Sodom off the stage, just like they did back in 1989. Back then Sodom couldn't handle it, now neither.
Plus, Sepultura are supporting In Flames, but are still a lot bigger than Sodom, or many thrash bands from that era.

I hope Sepultura gain a lot of new fans, 'cause their new album will be the best of 2006, and their shows are amazing - among the best metal shows on this planet. Actually, the best show.

...Sepultura need a second regular guitarist in their ranks again, IMHO. Yes, they have evolved and all, but having a second guitarist always spices up the creative process (see Nevermore) and as a (post-) thrash band the sound is just not there with only one shredder in a live environment.

Oh and yes, In Flames should support or co-headline.

In Flames are sell-out Nu-Romantic Pussies. Sure they may be 'more popular' with the Metal (HA!)mmer & Kerrap! readers, but Sepultura have been around much longer with a larger back catalogue, and dominated the globe long before In Flames.

Supporting Motorhead is understandable... Supporting Euro-Pop is criminal... I really hope Sepultura tell their booking agent to go get fucked!!!

True, Sepultura covered "Bullet the Blue Sky" by U2...and it was damn good. Not as good as the original, but still good.

While we're on the subject, In Flames covered "Land of Confusion" by Genesis, and again, did a damn good job. However, the original version was fucking amazing. In Flames did their best, but in the original, Phil Collins was able to convey this sense of urgency and anger that for whatever reason, Anders couldn't capture.

And YES, I just mentioned Phil Collins and anger in the same sentence. I like Phil Collins / Genesis. Some of his sappy ballads and uber-cheesy pop stuff is pure shit, but you cannot deny songs "Land of Confusion", Something Happened on the Way To Heaven" etc. etc.

OK, let the hate rain upon me now for saying I like Phil Collins.

What the FUCK has the (metal) world come to?? Sepultura supporting In flames? That`s up there with the once almighty Paradise Lost supporting Nightwish, or was it Within temptation..? or whatever fucking wedding dredd `metal` band that was...

What a sad day in metal. Max will definitely rejoin Sepultura within the next couple of years, just wait and see motherfuckers.

And I know metal fans are reluctant to accept change when it comes to their favourite bands, but I really wish more people would give the Derrick Green incarnation of Sepultura a chance. Nation and Roorback are fucking GREAT albums, and although Derrick is obviously not Max, his voice is a lot more versatile. That said, it wouldn't kill them to get another guitar player, if only to do justice to the classic songs...

If it wasn't for a certain "n*gg*r" in the late sixties, the guitar would still be a fucking folk instrument, and you'd be jerking off to Wagner on a gramaphone. And let's not forget that the other three guys in Sepultura ain't exactly guest speakers for the Aryan Nation. Some people have fucking short memories...

Sepultura was a great band. In Flames is also pretty fricken sweet. I think it's great that Europe gets to see both of these bands together on the same stage, regardless of who the headliner is.

Both are great bands. Both are two of my favourite bands... But Co-Headline would be better, support does no justice for Sepultura... And Get a date nearer to Manchester on a weekend, a fuckin' weekday in London is impossible for a 16 year old living in Manchester! Manchester NOW!!!!

(P.s both bands have supported Motorhead, the last year it was Sep, and this year it was IF, so that surely considers them equal… Plus I live in the UK in Europe and I have met more Sep fans than IF fans)
