It's Official: DREAM THEATER To Play 20th Anniversary Concert At NYC's Radio City Music Hall

As BLABBERMOUTH.NET reported on December 10, DREAM THEATER have now confirmed that they will be playing a very special show at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Saturday, April 1, 2006. Celebrating the very last show of the band's 20th Anniversary Tour 2005/2006, this very special grand finale will be recorded and filmed for an upcoming 20th anniversary DVD and CD release. Gold packages go on sale tomorrow (Dec. 21) at 3:00 p.m. and to the general public via Ticketmaster on Thursday, December 22. To hear the radio ad, click here (mp3, 1.4 MB). DREAM THEATER are continuing to tour in support of their latest album, "Octavarium", which came out in early June. The band's next live appearance will take place on January 7, 2006 in Osaka, Japan.

They usually do a good job on their DVD's. Maybe someday they will tour with Rush. That would be an awesome double bill.

20 years? Yeah, that's about right. They used to be known as Majesty. Actually, I think it should be more like the Portnoy/Petrucci 20 year anniversary as I know they've changed singers and keyboard players. Don't know about John Myung but whatever.
Yo guys, so what about a US tour? Gigantour was nice but a full on DT show is in order if you're going to go around pushing the 20 year thing.

Yeah, that would be a good double bill and there would be those that would hang out for 6 hours. Me being one of them but promoters would never go for it because of just that, a 6 hours show.

Needed more solos but loved the feel of the album. I felt that it was picking up where 6 Degrees left off. That too was an amazing album. But Train of Thought was horrible. To each their own right?

Yes, it is true. Only 1,000 copies of "When Dream And Day Unite" were made. However, since the original pressing it has been re-released on several seperate occassions for a 'limited time only'.

how many were cassette/cd?-where did you get this info?-i happened to get a original pressing cd on clearance for $1!!! at bought it cause they were on fates warning's thank you list so i thought they had to be ok haha-

No, System Of A Down Syndrome's Mezmerize wins the award for worst of 2005.
No offense or anything, I really like Octavarium. They seemed to be running out of ideas on Train of Nu-Metal Tinged Wank, but then came back with a much better follow-up to ToT that I think pleased most of DT fans. Including me :)

I think the full version of 'Pull Me Under' (not the short radio version) is genius so I thought I would love Images and Words. Hardly, Metropolis is ok but the rest just doesn't do it for me. Some of sounds like Kenny G. Are their other albums heavier?

i don't like anything they have done after Scenes From A Memory.
a few tracks on 6 degrees weren't bad
train of thought is horrible
the new one is horrible
why do they feel the need to release a live cd/dvd after almost every disc?
