SLIPKNOT Receive TOAZTED Award For 'Most Downloaded Artist'

Toazted.com, the web site that claims to have the world's largest collection of MP3 interviews online, has named SLIPKNOT "the most downloaded artist of 2005." Over a 100,000 fans downloaded the "Subliminal Verses" interview to hear frontman Corey Taylor talk about their sold-out tour and the upcoming recording of Taylor's acclaimed side project STONE SOUR. SLIPKNOT received Toazted.com honors in two categories: "Most Popular Heavy Metal Band of 2005", ahead of RAMMSTEIN, SYSTEM OF A DOWN and METALLICA; and "Most Popular Act of 2005," where they beat such acts as COLDPLAY, GREEN DAY and FRANZ FERDINAND. Toazted.com has a huge archive with a wide variety of interviews in MP3 format. This is the first year that they are honoring the winners with the Toazted Award. The "Most Wanted" Award was presented to Corey Taylor in New York City at the Nokia theatre on December 15.

Why the hell are people still going apeshit over Slipknot? I'll admit that their first album was damn good...but their second album was pretty disappointing and their third album has some cool moments but overall is pretty lame. I'm just surprised that people are still crazy about this band. Hasn't the hype worn off yet??

Do people *REALLY* think that they came up with that shit on their own? Check out Intense Mutilation - they had the gimmick back in 1985!! (http://www.IntenseMutilation.com). Unlike Intense Mutilation, DripSnot takes themselves seriously - gimmie a fuckin' break!
Intense Mutilation leaves NO DOUBT that they are a goof and are having a good time. Check out their song titles: "E3 The Extra Testicle", "Heaving On A Jet Plane", "Sgt Leppers Falling Parts Club Band", "Shit Stains", "Fuck You" and a ton more...
DripSnot's drummer kicks ass. Other than that, they are ripoff artists...

I personally love slipknot, but weather it be because the music or a gimic, they are still making loads of money and putting out best selling Cd's while you guys are sitting at home whining.

Great band and an amazing live act. I was pissed when they cancelled their NYC shows b/c I wanted to see them again before they went off and did their side projects again...but I'll be seeing Stone Sour when they come to the tri-state area.

Hmmm should I bash the band like a retard, say Iron Maiden rules or bring up a different topic...........I'll try the last one. Here goes nothing!
I wonder how they feel about this award. How would you feel? It's like Awesome! People are downloading our shit, we have lots of fans (at leat the majority anyway, of course some people download it just to check it out), but on the other hand it's like Hey wait a minute! No one's buying our shit! What the fuck?! I think I would be honored but dissapointed in my fellow man at the same time. Unless there was some kind of statistic that should the reason people are downloading the songs is because they're broke ass poor, and can barely put gas in their, but they're trying really hard by working and going to school, and they love metal so the only thing for them to do is download it. Otherwise, they're just being cheap ass bitches and they should get off their fat asses and buy the shit if they like it.
I also wonder what the awards looks like? Is it a piece of toast? Did he eat it after they gave it to them? Or is it a bag of weed that you get toasted on, and then go eat some bread yourself. So many questions, not enough answers.

I love all of it. I was not impressed with 9.0 live when it came out but the more I listen to it the more I really like it. Also one of my favorite bands live (Though not my favorite). Who ever came up with the idea to do the 2nd stage at Ozfest in 2004 was a genius. Those were some of the most intense shows I've ever seen. It sucks their gonna be gone for a while. Corey's probabbly going to get all wrapped up into Stone Sour again and we'll have to listen to this break-up shit again. Favorite Slipknot album=Iowa. Also, as much as I might be starting to like 9.0 live it does not compare to the best live metal album EVER....
