CELTIC FROST Mainman's 'Pathetic' Blog Taken Down Following Criticism

CELTIC FROST mainman Tom Gabriel Fischer appears to have taken his official blog down after it was criticized by some of the group's fans for being an outlet for Fischer's "pathetic" and "sometimes riddle-like thought exhibitions." An online exchange between Fischer and one especially vocal critic, who calls himself "megawimp", can be found at the band's official message board (which, for the time being, remains active). As previously reported, CELTIC FROST have set "Monotheist" as the tentative title of their first album in 13 years. The culmination of some three and a half years of songwriting and recording work, the album was largely produced by the band themselves and financed by their own production company, with additional assistance from HYPOCRISY/ PAIN mastermind Peter TÃĪgtgren during the final recording and mixing sessions at Horus Sound Studio in Hanover, Germany. Negotiations with a variety of labels are currently underway, and the album is scheduled for a release in early 2006. Original CELTIC FROST members Tom Gabriel Fischer (voice and guitars) and Martin Eric Ain (bass) are joined by Erol Unala (guitar) and Franco Sesa (drums). The band are now managed by Antje Lange for The A Label in Berlin, Germany. CELTIC FROST will make several European festival appearances next summer before embarking on a North American tour in September. it may be too late. amazing that it took tom so long to realise how
annoying and sad his blog entries were. this should of happened a
year ago... let's hope his judgement regarding metal is a little keener
and the new album is all he promises. Afterall who the f*** cares

The only possible argument anyone could have against this is that he should stick to band-related news but again, it's his site, if he wants to alienate his fans by writing boring crap then it's up to him.
Having said that it seems what's happened is that megawimp guy (who's obviously very educated) makes some good points and it looks like this upset Tom the Warrior who (as was pointed out) has realised his self-indulgent ramblings were basically a big pile of wank.

Nobody is saying Tom can't write anything he wants. I think what some people were saying is that his writings sound like a depressed 15 year old girl who has read one or two Cliff Notes of some philosophy books. I live in New York City, which, I am told, is the capital of the universe, and it's still excruciatingly difficult to even find, say, a Celtic Frost CD around here! So all you folks bashing the USA, be advised, getting into the great European metal can be a little like getting filet mignon at McDonald's, if you get my drift. And BTW, Slayer, Pantera, Morbid Angel, Obituary, et al were American the last time I checked.

In my own personal case, I have a hardcore metal store in my neighborhood in Queens (lucky me), and I'd rather support them than Amazon or whoever, since they really need it. Plus I'd hate to see record stores just vanish, wouldn't you? They're so much fun. The point is, I think that a lot of people in the US don't even know about some of the great European metal because it's just not readily available (visible), and they can't possibly compete with the promotion of bands like Slipknot. "You have to get your hands dirty", as Phil Anselmo said. One may argue, "Hey, john dee, you got into it", but I've always been the exception, for better or worse. Hopefully this will change when CF and Emperor come here next year. Yeah baby!

You know John, I used to feel that way, but I'm not so sure any more. I'm from Pittsburgh and I live in Boston. There's a record store in Pittsburgh called Eides that carrys a lot of metal, but to be honest, most of the people who work there seemed to be more interested in bullshitting with their friends than actually helping you. And their prices are insanely high. And in Boston some stores have OK metal sections, but I can't tell you how often they're missing the CD I want. They may have Pelican, but not the particular Pelican CD I want. I tried to buy some Voi Vod recently and I couldn't find any! Give me the Internet any day.

Metal Kingdom Records in Long Island City. It's real close to the Queensboro Plaza stop. Just walk east over the bridge by the railyard and it's on the left hand side right next to the XXX video store (no sign in front, but usually posters in the window). They have a website as well. They also have a great little club in the basement, with bands playing once a month or so. Lots of black and death metal records. They deserve our support.

here is only ONE real place to buy metal--METAL HAVEN-- its off belmont and broadway--not too far from wrigley. the staff there knows their metal, especially the owner. theres always metal jamming, its not expensive there, but you will drop fat cash on your first visit. they have a good selection of black/speed/grind/death
they have a small store thats literally overflowing with cds.
that whole area has quite a few music stores within a 4 block radius. reckless records comes to mind.
so support the indie record stores. if you dont, then they are gone. thus, finding those cf cds(which are really easy to find in chicago) would become harder than megawimp finding a honeypot to dip his stick in

You know...I often wondered about KULLy-POO myself. Wondering if he's some little kid with some kind of schizophrenia problem or if he is actually different users using the name (that was created by an American author mind you). Some posts seem to make sense, then on the other hand, he chimes in with his diatribe of how bad America is and how much he hates America all the time. (Then when he sees my post and notices how I keep saying America instead of the U.S., he'll respond with some lame remark on how he has no problem with Canada or Mexico like he ALWAYS does).
