MÖTLEY CRÜE Recall Last New Year's Eve Controversy

Launch Radio Networks reports: MÖTLEY CRÜE will welcome 2006 with a New Year's Eve show tomorrow (Saturday, December 31) in Auburn Hills, Michigan. It was last New Year's Eve that frontman Vince Neil uttered the F-word on NBC's "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno", setting off a firestorm of reaction that included threats of fines and other FCC sanctions. Bassist Nikki Sixx told Launch that the CRÜE won't have to worry about good behavior this year. "We got some good stuff planned," he said. "We're gonna say 'fuck' 100,000 times, I promise you that. Give a big, happy fucking New Year, and no one will have their panties in a wad."
No actions were ultimately taken against either NBC or MÖTLEY CRÜE regarding the "Tonight Show" incident.
The New Year's Eve gig kicks off the CRÜE's 30-date Carnival of Sins 2006 tour.
MÖTLEY CRÜE plan to enter the studio on May 1 to start work on a new studio album.

it just seems like yersterday that i was reading this on Blabber...holy shit time flys when your old!!!! Rock on Crue, hell thats what rock is about anyway, take the Crue for what their worth, they still rock and can put on one hell of a show, and i dont ever recall these guys as being top notch musicians or anything close...they do a hell of a job as being entertainers, you go to their to have fun, its 3 hours to unwind and have fun...too many people here take this shit way to seriously, maybe you should try to have fun with the music for once in your, you may just enjoy it.....Happy Fucking New Year....

I agree to the aforementioned.... the Crue was never about good musicianship. Mick Mars has some good leads and riffs, and Tommy is obviously a very good drummer. However, they were never accused of being "a musician's musicians". They write good songs that you can party to, and put on an entertaining show. Vince's voice isn't that great live, but the rest of the show overshadows that.
If you're looking for serious musicianship, this ain't your band. Go listen to Dream Theater or Opeth (who, both of them by the way...put on great shows).

You'd better enjoy bands like the Crüe while they're still there...
Because one day you'll realize that almost all of the rock music that has been done after the arrival of St. Kurt is big whining shit. Fun has gone in rock since he came. Want a proof? This guy was so unhappy making rock he shot himself.
OK, let's go, little dicks, tell me I'm wrong, say how Kurt was a great artist... To me, it's just refusing to see the truth, refusing to accept that most of the rock fans have been wrong for the last 15 years.
Mötley Crüe is a REAL rock band. You may prefer whining losers, or dumb-as-fuck metal bands with guys that screams like tortured pigs in front, but the truth is that rock and roll is about having a great time, and the Crüe fucking knows it. I don't give a damn if Nikki Sixx isn't a great bassist, his tone is enormous, he rocks, and he can write some fuckin' good hooks. He's as good a writer as St. Kurt was, maybe better. He had a tougher youth than Cobain, but he stood up, kicked every ass he had to kick, and made some great rock 'n roll. Have you ever listened to "Shout At The Devil"? This isn't about make-up. It's pure heavy rock, about having fun, getting laid, dealing with the fuckin' devil and rocking until you can't stand on your fuckin' feets. No "All Apologies" here!
And I bet that Nikki Sixx could easily beat the shit out of the small-weenie Crüe bashers here. He will never be the greatest artist in rock, but he knows how it's done. Fuck, this guy learned his craft by listening to Aerosmith, The New York Dolls and Mott The Hoople. This is the real shit!
And never forget than Tommy Lee is a better drummer than YOU. He did bad things in his life, he's certainly not the most intelligent guy on earth, but he plays with so much energy, if you open your fuckin' ears, you'll actually feel it. But if you've been listening to depressed St. Kurt and co. stuff since 1991, you'll never notice.
I don't know if the Crûe will ever do another album, but if it comes out, take a listen, or two. Do it alone if you're afraid to tell your other small-weenie friends you did. I bet that, inside yourself, you'll like it.

keeforever...the fact that you cant find good music other than the shit MC puts out is pathetic. I find most metal to be a fucking joke but there are other types of music that are just as good and better than anything nirvana did. Look at Small Stone's library and you have just discovered more than your ears could take in a year.
I for one could care less about Kurt Cobain. He had is moments but almost every recorded artist has. NIkki even calls the shit crue did after Shout a fucking joke. So kiss ass if you must but all you need to do is apply yourself and you will find music that is not grunge, not crue and at the same time better than both.

ok the Crue are good. Nikki says that theatre of pain and girls , girls , girls were jokes. I agree I can't stand those albums. The each had two "good" songs that became big singles and made the album sell. I don't even like the singles of those albums. I like a bunch of songs off "Too Fast For Love" and "Shout At The Devil" is awesomeness. "Dr.Feelgood" had it's moments but mostly sounded lame and contrived , especially now. But "Motley Crue" was a serious effort and was pretty good. "Generation Swine" had some good tunes and "New Tattoo" I like. The 3 new songs "Sick Love songs" , "If I Die tomorrow" and "I'm A Liar {And that's the truth}" are good too. Sure nikki is a pretty bad bass player and vince is technically not that great. Mick has simple riffs {but if he wants to he can make some great stuff like in his instrumentals} and Tommy is a pretty sweet drummer. It's fun relaxed music.

Tommy Lee is a servicable drummer at best. Always has been, always will be.
Also - Yeah, niKKi siXX would love to get the chance to beat me down. And I welcome the challenge. However, I think he actually appreciates me more than you ignorant fucks. At least I have an opinion about him. And if I'm wrong, he can afford to grab my email address and do a background check, find my address and phone number and gimme a call or just show up here. However, that would mean that much less smack, so I doubt he'd do that.

Oh, and if a station as old as NBC doesn't know to put a time delay on a live event featuring a heavy metal band (even if the ARE bringing in the new year), then they get what they deserve. NBC broke protocol, and basically blamed MC for their FUCK up.
