SEPULTURA: 'Dante XXI' Release Date Confirmed; Demo Song To Be Made Available Next Week
- Jan. 6, 2006

SPV USA has confirmed a March 14 North American release date for SEPULTURA's 11th full-length album, entitled "Dante XXI". The CD was recorded at Trama Studios in São Paulo, Brazil, where the group had previously laid down the "Revolusongs" EP, which contained cover versions of songs from such acts as MASSIVE ATTACK to HELLHAMMER to JANE'S ADDICTION (and was included in the limited-edition digipack version of 2003's "Roorback"). A demo version of the first single, "Convicted in Life", will be featured in the March 2006 issue of Revolver magazine (on stands January 10) as part of their "Revolver Bootleg Series."
Working under the watchful eye of producer Andre Moraes (with whom they've previously worked on various Brazilian film soundtracks), SEPULTURA's follow-up to "Roorback" is based on the epic poetic masterpiece "The Divine Comedy" written by Italian author Dante Alighieri in the early 14th Century. The three main components of "The Divine Comedy" are Dante's descriptions of Hell, Purgatory and Paradise.
"Dante XXI" track listing:
01. Dark Wood of Error 02. Convicted In Life 03. City of Dis 04. False 05. Fighting On 06. Ostia 07. Buried Words 08. Nuclear Seven 09. Repeating the Horror 10. Crown and Miter 11. Still Flame
In addition to the 11 tracks that are set to appear on "Dante XXI", SEPULTURA recorded two cover songs — JUDAS PRIEST's "Screaming for Vengeance" and SICK OF IT ALL's "Scratching the Surface" — which will be released as single b-sides in the future.
Tune in to MTV2's "Headbanger's Ball" this Saturday, January 7 at 10:00 p.m. EST to see SEPULTURA's video clip for "Refuse/Resist" open up this week's program. The clip was taken from the band's "Live In São Paulo" double-disc DVD, out now on SPV USA.

Cant say that new-Sepultura is the best Sepultura IMO but it isnt that bad. Sure, it isnt the same as the old Max Cavalera-Fronted days but at least they are still doin' it. I think Derrick Green is doing a good job considering what he had to replace..........
might check out the album

This is great news!!!! Man, I am really excited for this release. Finally Sepultura will have a proper release for their new album. No bullshit sabotage from roadrunner. No divided release dates from SPV, and full support apparently, with a spot on mtv2 and a demo in revolver?!?! Sepultura are going to take over in '06. I anticipate nothing less than the best release of the entire year on March 14th!!!!

With Max, these guys became legends. They are one of the best thrash metal and even metal bands of all time.
Now, they're good, but not great. I'll still probably buy it and like a good bit, but it can't be Chaos AD or Arise without Max.

Best band on the planet!
Old and new stuff, all amazing!
Can't wait for DanteXXI as Live in Sao Paulo has a dissappointing mix. Seeing them live the 21st of march, cannot wait, they destroy live!

I just want Max to get back with Sepultura, and do Soulfly on the side, just like all the members of Dream Theater do. When it comes down to it, I like both bands, but Soulfly is better than Sepultura nowadays. It would be perfect if he would do Sepultura full-time and keep Soulfly as a side, kinda like Devin Townsend and Strapping Young Lad.

As long as you have a knuckledragger as a vocalist, the fanbase will always be divided. Sad but true.

No joke, Sepultura will be doing some select summer dates with Max in '06. Only shows in Europe are confirmed, but a quick U.S. jaunt may be in the cards. This comes from a source close to the Cavalera camp. I know how most of you here are a bunch of haters, but it IS true. Do what you will with the info, but it is DEFINITELY happening and something to look forward to.

Hey man, i´ve a song for you!!! This song is called BLUE SUIT, BROWN SHIRT and it is from Sacred Reich!! Here we go:
Ignorance not new to you Your mission to exclude Hate it blinds you cannot see Pass your judgement down on me
Race dictates your every move Pride is what claim to prove Separation is what you mean Hate is what you preach
RACIST PIECE OF SHIT BULLET IS THE ONLY WAY YOU´LL LEARN
Great song, huh????? It´s obvious that you have some prejudices towards coloured people but what else can i expect from a narrow minded redneck!!!
This new SEPULTURA-album will blast the shit out of your poisoned mind!!!
