MÖTLEY CRÜE To Team Up With AEROSMITH For Co-Headlining Tour - Jan. 6, 2006
MÖTLEY CRÜE will be teaming up with AEROSMITH for a co-headlining tour later in the year, CRÜE frontman Vince Neil revealed during an appearance on the "Opie and Anthony" show on XM Satellite Radio earlier today (Jan. 6). In addition, CRÜE will be playing several European dates with THE ROLLING STONES over the summer.

MÖTLEY CRÜE will commence the songwriting/demoing process for their new studio album on May 1. Joining the group for the new album sessions will be producer Bob Rock, who previously worked with CRÜE on their "Dr. Feelgood" and self-titled albums, as well as the three new tracks that appeared on CRÜE's two-CD "greatest hits" collection, "Red, White & Crüe", which came out in February 2005. An early 2007 release is expected, to be followed by extensive touring.

MÖTLEY CRÜE will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this coming January 25 in front of the Musician's Institute in Hollywood, California. The band were among a number of entertainers in motion pictures, television, radio, live theater, and recording that were selected in June 2005 to receive stars on the Walk of Fame by the Walk of Fame Committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. These individuals were chosen from among hundreds of nominations to the committee at a meeting held June 20, 2005 and ratified by the Chamber's Board of Directors.

Hasn't Aerosmith already solidified themselves as the quintessential Super Bowl/college bowl game halftime performance band? I don't really see the logic in going on tour again. Seems like their current schtick is working out just fine for 'em.

Great- abbreviated sets for the "co-headliners" at double the ticket price!!!

These pairings are complete scams- the bands put in half the effort and get twice the payday... wait, what am I saying?!?! Crue and Aersomith have both been doing that since the 80s! Stick KISS on the bill and it will be the "Rest On Your Laurels and Don't Try Too Hard" tour.

Regarding Aerosmith - while I tend to agree with you regarding their album output, I've seen them on their last couple of tours and there is NO way you can say they're just coasting on their past. These guys are in their mid-fifties and STILL perform as if thier lives depend on it.

BTW - your Peanuts analogy the other day was one of the best Blab post EVER! Congrats.

Frank "Nikki" is spooging all over this news. Anybody remember his thread-for-thread copy of Steven Tyler's black-and-white striped stage suit from the 70's? I saw the Crue here in Osaka in Nov - Nikki aka Tubby better get on a fucking Stairmaster real quick - or the perpetually fit (and older) Joe Perry is gonna make him look like the lazy lard-ass he's sadly become.

Crue will be the opening act for aerosmith!

They will throw some shit band out there first for 30 minutes to smooth Motley's egoQ

These tours sound good but all you get is a watered down setlist from both bands. By the way.. i like both bands

Yes -- most likely overpriced tickets and watered-down setlists. I've learned to avoid these types of shows altogether (where you have at least two high-profile acts on the same bill). Best place to see any band is at a small club or concert hall.

To their credit, though, the Crue weren't half-bad on the U.S. tour last fall. Then again, they didn't have a support act, which allowed for an extended set with a few surprises thrown in.

The Crue DID have an opening act here in Japan - the God-awful Buckcherry. Man, they sucked like a Hoover - you're lucky you weren't subjected to that!

co-headlining just sucks ass.
the same tired songs. shorter sets, and as ^^ higher prices.
these have to stop...

Bands need to get back to venues they can sell out and play a set
that gives the fans their money's worth.

Unfortunately, Dream Theater, one of my favorite bands, is trapped
in this bullshit.
