METALLICA Confirm South African Dates

METALLICA have now officially confirmed that they will headine the Coca-Cola Colab Massive Mix festivals in South Africa, marking their first ever visit to the continent. The shows are as follows:
Mar. 18 - Supersport Park, Centurion (situated between Johannesburg and Pretoria)
Mar. 21 - ABSA Stadium, Durban
Mar. 25 - Green Point Stadium, Cape Town
Other artists on the bill include seven top local artists, SIMPLE PLAN, THE RASMUS, SEETHER, FATBOY SLIM, and COLLECTIVE SOUL. Tickets are already on sale via the www.computicket.co.za web site, or by calling 083 915 8000.
METALLICA's follow-up to 2003's "St. Anger" is expected to surface in late 2006/early 2007 via Warner Bros.

You obviously DON'T get it. This is a festival! Many different kinds of bands... and this is also Africa, where many are muslim. So, your kind of so-called metal preferences do not suit this geographic area - meaning, not many would show up! Now with metallica... they are sure that THOUSANDS are gonna come!
And this is also NOT a tour... you tool! Get your facts straight! This another escape from the studio... hopefully they'll premiere some new material! :-)

Actually I work from home and I'm eating breakfast while reading these posts. It's huilarious how people get there goat pulled so fuckin easy over this shit.

Overkill kicks ass. They actually move around on stage- Bobby Blitz puts so much energy into the live performance...balls out full on top notch singing. His voice is stronger than when they first came out.
They are pros. So what they do not sell massive amounts of records. But they still sell out venues. even if they are small...they still sell out.

A) If you like reading what they have to say, DO NOT tell them to quit doing it.
B)Nobody needs to spread the word of Metallica. They're a common name now. Much like Coca-Cola, Phillip Morris or Sony. They are more of a business, than a band these days.
C)I doubt anyone gets so pissed of typing about Metallica, they'd get red in the face. Truth is most of the haters probably laugh when they still see Shitallica news on a metal site.
Lastly, Metallica really do suck. They haven't done anything worthwhile since Master Of Puppets. Everything since Puppets has blown donkey cocks. They definately ruled in the 80's though.

I find it quite odd that they would put anymore tour dates on the plate so "early" into the recording process. I'd be surprised if we didn't see a launched Metallica release by Summer 2006.

Is playing on there own accord. None of these bands are PLAYING WITH metallica. They're all just on the bill. The point of the festival is about exposing different forms of music to a continent that hardly gets any musical acts. PERIOD.

Metallica are NOT touring with Simple Plan...
THOSE THREE DATES ARE FESTIVAL DATES, DAMN IT!!!!
That means that there are gonna several DIFFERENT musical styles - jesus!

SHUT THE *BIIIP* UP! The reason they can't have death metal bands (or some shit like that) is exactly because they're muslim (some of them) - that kind of music is illegal in muslim countries...

I'm booking my flight right now....Metallica will kick arse in SA, I like Seether too and I'm sure a few of the others will be pretty good, but I'm pretty much there just for Metallica. I've visited many places in SA before and it's an excellent place, looking forward to going back.
Anyone else from the UK making the trip??? :-)
