Kim does need to start a band, you are exactly right. Soundgarden were an awesome band but not as good as ALICE IN CHAINS! I loved the grunge era though, its a shame it spawned crappy "radio grunge" bands like Creed and Lifehouse because they basically killed real grunge. Alice in Chains were one of the best bands of all time.

This is Going to really Suck....Someone should have made the effort to do it properly...Meshuggah doing Jesus Christ Pose....Cathedral doing a 45 Minute version of Outshined...that kind of thing.

Alice In Chains was not grunge. Just because a band is from Seattle doesn't make them grunge. They were simply hard rock, but yes, one of the best.

How can you say they aren't grunge? Sure they don't sound exactly like Nirvana, but they are one of the most iconic grunge bands of all time. They did often crossover into the metal/hard rock genre, but primariliy they were a grunge band.

Is not a Chris Cornell solo song. You might be thinking on "Seasons" which was a solo song on the Singles soundtrack.

and rather than a particular tribute cd being "all good" or "all bad", there's usually a little of both on one.. take Led Zepellin's Enconium
Great Horrid Henry Rollins - Four Sticks Sheryl Crow - D'yer Maker Plant & Tori - Down by seaside Hootie & Blowfish - Hey hey what can i do Duran Duran - Thank you STP - Dancing days
The rest kind of fell in between...

I'm really not too crazy about that track listing. With only a couple exceptions, they picked Soundgarden's most subdued, overplayed, and commercially successful material to cover. Meh, i'll pass.

this looks like it could be either pretty decent or really bad. i'd have to hear it. and Room A Thousand Years Wide would probably be THE song on there i'd be most critical of how it turns out, since it's one of my favorite Soundgarden songs, probably in my Top 3. also, was kinda hoping to see perhaps Ugly Truth, Hands All Over, Get On The Snake, Big Dumb Sex, Let Me Drown, or My Wave on there as well. and personally, i'd replace Blow Up The Outside World with Rhinosaur. personally i think Rhinosaur is a better song, but hey that's just me....
SOUNDGARDEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MESHUGGAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how come the Black Sabbath cd is the only tribute cd in history to have good bands?
this could be a great cd.. if they had bands that mattered in any sense.. i've never even heard of any of them, except Index Case.. and they're not special.

A bunch of bands nobody knows and they only go back as far as Badmotorfinger, and then only for a couple of songs. What about Louder than Love, Ultramega Ok, and Screaming Life. Those early ones are my favorites.
Oh well, they're not making this tribute album for me, I guess.

Soundgarden are fucking awesome!!
In my opinion Alice in Chains are/were even better... and now Jerry Cantrell also is .... but Ill respect anyone who likes Soundgarden better anyways.
Why choose between great bands and their music if you can have them both ?!!

Hello Everyone,
To the person whao said Souindgarden was a great metal band...you get it.
This is Lance from the Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN group called Casanatra.
We are performing Rusty Cage on this compilation.
Since all of the bands are from the Midwest (thus Midwest Movement), you may not have heard of us.
You can hear a 30 second clip of Rusty Cage done casanatra style as well as a few of our other songs here...http://www.myspace.com/casanatrampls
Thanks for giving it a shot. It's not easy to hear something new made out of something you already know.
~Lance
