SEPULTURA: 'Dante XXI' Artwork Posted Online - Jan. 17, 2006
An unofficial SEPULTURA web site, Tribus, has uploaded what appears to be the cover artwork for the band's upcoming "Dante XXI" opus, due in North America on March 14 via SPV USA. Check out the artwork at this location.

As previously reported, a demo version of a new SEPULTURA track, "Convicted in Life" — taken from "Dante XXI" — has been made available for download at SepulArmy.net. The CD was recorded at Trama Studios in São Paulo, Brazil, where the group had previously laid down the "Revolusongs" EP, which contained cover versions of songs from such acts as MASSIVE ATTACK to HELLHAMMER to JANE'S ADDICTION (and was included in the limited-edition digipack version of 2003's "Roorback").

Working under the watchful eye of producer Andre Moraes (with whom they've previously worked on various Brazilian film soundtracks), SEPULTURA's follow-up to "Roorback" is based on the epic poetic masterpiece "The Divine Comedy" written by Italian author Dante Alighieri in the early 14th Century. The three main components of "The Divine Comedy" are Dante's descriptions of Hell, Purgatory and Paradise.

"Dante XXI" track listing:

01. Dark Wood of Error
02. Convicted In Life
03. City of Dis
04. False
05. Fighting On
06. Ostia
07. Buried Words
08. Nuclear Seven
09. Repeating the Horror
10. Crown and Miter
11. Still Flame

In addition to the 11 tracks that are set to appear on "Dante XXI", SEPULTURA recorded two cover songs — JUDAS PRIEST's "Screaming for Vengeance" and SICK OF IT ALL's "Scratching the Surface" — which will be released as single b-sides in the future.

(Thanks: Ben / Tribus)

I had higher expectations for the album cover considering the topic. I expected something more dark and sinsiter. But sigh, with max gone, wat more can u expect. Wat happnd the cool covers like morbid visions beneath the remains, ARISE??

SEPULTURA RULE THOUGH!!! Max or no max

But sepultura reunion would still b fucking NICE!! Its coming I just know it, max says he won't, but he'll give up and do it. I just know it.

np Kull, just saying, and I must admit most of 'us' non-americans tend to do that, to remind americans what they 'are'... anyway, I'm off to the next cool thread

Yeah, i can hardly await to listen to the new album and from what i´ve read and heard so far it´ll be a work of art. The artwork looks cool, too and it´s great that SEPULTURA always try to be different than other metal-bands!!!
