DIMEBAG Tribute DVD 'DimeVision' To Arrive In April
- Jan. 21, 2006
|
|
"DimeVision - Vol 1: That's The Fun I Have", a tribute DVD to late PANTERA/ DAMAGEPLAN guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, will be released on April 4 via Big Vin, the new label launched by Dimebag's brother Vinnie Paul. The disc, "which remembers and celebrates the life of my brother," according to Vinnie, will feature Dime's stellar guitar playing and offbeat brand of humor, and is sure to be a title every serious PANTERA fan will have to own. Check out the cover artwork at this location. Also available on April 4 will be the self-titled debut CD from REBEL MEETS REBEL ( cover) — the project featuring three of the founding members of PANTERA ( Vinnie Paul, "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott and bassist Rex Brown) together with legendary country singer/outlaw David Allan Coe. Both products will be distributed through Fontana. (Thanks: www.VINNIEandDIME.com)

I've been a fan of Pantera 4EVER, MAN!! I embraced damageplan, I was at the alrosa and met Dime the afternoon of that horrible day. I dig the pantera dvd 3 vulgar vids from hell. I dig that shit, it fuckin rules! And yes, if u don't know by now Dimebag is my all time fav guitarist. He always has been. I waited 3 hours that afternoon to meet him to have him sign some old guitar one mags from 2000 and beyond.

I don't really get tired of the DIME and PIGGY stuff and stories (or any dead musician for the matter). I gte tired of the fucking assholes who keep whining like all these DIME stories were shoved down their throat.
If you don't like the stories, why don't you just WALK BY and SKIP?
RE to this news: SOUNDS FUCKING COOL. FIRST LINK LOOKS AWESOME! PS: that clip of dime at 18 was soooo fucking cool.

Re Eagleheart: Watch your words. I like Trivium and Still Remains. I don't really think they're EMO really, but I think Electric_Funeral listen to Madonna and the Killers.
Kidding.

Electric Funeral is another bandwagon hopper that missed the ride, so he is sick of it. ...the kinda guy that if he met Dime, would be on here talking his ass off about the loss of the greatest musician, IMO, ever!

madeinquebec, there's no need in throwing childish insults about, it makes you look like a small child have a temper tantrum. Just because his opinion differs to yours, embarrassing yourself will not change his opinion. As much as i love Dimebag Darrell, i think Electric_Funeral has a valid point. It's becoming the fallen hero thing all over again, Dimebag is a martyr for this new generation. This doesn't alter my respect and admiration for him though, his legacy is still great and his music will live on forever.
And by the way, when you were saying that Electric_Funeral probably listens to metalcore and emo and shit... well take a look at his screen name. Black Sabbath, he clearly has some taste.
Next time, think before posting mindless drivel, okay? ;)

Pantera and David Allen Coe
two absolute classic acts.
I saw DAC the day Johnny Cash died. Sad day indeed. DAC took it pretty rough. He started drinking the moment he heard the news in the morning, then he went to the riverboat casinos in Cincinnati and drank and gambled some more. I was able to speak with the tour manager, and he was saying they had to physically pick him up from the blackjack table and carry him to a van where they drove him to the show.
He was incoherent as fuck when speaking to the crowd, but musically? Put on a fucking great show. Though I felt really really bad for DAC as he was very tight with the Man in Black. Will definately go down in my musical memory book as one of the most memorable performances I'd ever seen.
But shit....Vinne, Dime, and David Allen Coe? Well that's alright alright in my book.

Sounds awesome. I'm a big DIME fan. I may listen to a lot of different music, but Dime (And the guitarist from Between The Buried and Me and Annihilator) are my favorite guitarists. Dimevision will probably be a rent then own deal. Rebel Meets Rebel will be a buy. I love Rex and Vinnie as Well as David and Dime. Should be pretty interesting. Definitely Southern-fried.

ahh...yes no problem with your statement for any other band except for Pantera, because they tried to cover their past, their roots...as soon as they became 'metal' they consistently dissed the genre and bands that they used to represent...and there lies the hypocrisy...
and also the fact that Pantera 'finding themselves' was just a little too coincidentally around the same time Glam was dying...if Glam grew and prospered, I have little doubt that they would have gone in a different direction...and that my friend is unfortunately the definition of selling out...

It's fairly easy to spot the hot topic kids, or just plain ignorance on these threads.
The 1 thing lost on most posters is the magic, mystery, and Iconic godlike status that musicians held before the internet...
I mean it's definetly cool getting first hand news at the touch of your fingers instantly, but pre internet, the only sources for "your" music was Mags, IE.. Hit Parader, Karraang, Circus, etc, the occasional Video, and the collection of cassettes you worshipped!.....
If one bought a mag, they're not going to read articles about bands their not interested in, what for, to voice to who, ....nah...now with the internet...weak fucks can rail on anyone without any semblence of comprehension of just what it takes to even make it onto these threads, ....
I'm a guitarist, and still hold great reverence for the greats, and respect others for their perserverence, whether I think they suck or not...Just a fucking shame that more kids aren't out playing sandlot football, banging some drums in a basement, taking some guitar lessons, etc,.....
instead they rail on others accomplishments and dedication , playing the Xbox 1080 or PS9, or just shit slinging about people (bandmembers/ bands), when they've shown no contributions publicly themselves.
The world grows smaller daily, and thats more bad then good...
Dime was one of the last true guitar hero's that bridged the gap from the early 80's into the deserved legend he became. Just watch 4 05 5 of those mid 80's Dime Solo vid's, all the randy and Eddie stuff, even some early Yngvie, not to mention his own signature shredding and showmanship.
Dime was no poser, it just how things were then, was randy or Jimi a poser, look how they dressed. And like all greats, Dime didn't need another guitarist to cover/assist him.
1 of the last true Six Slingers, and from my perspective sorely missed.
Dime Lives!!!
Stronger then Death!!!

At least you made me laugh, but seriously, don't use the word 'kid' to insult someone util you've finished puberty. Your comments are childish and senseless. Get a grip before you convince yourself that you've got shit figured out.
"howcome?" "jerkin off?" "them copies?" "is gonna?"

For the record, I've been listening to Pantera for 15 years. I learned to play guitar by taking Dime's lessons. I owned a 333 the first production year, as well as a SH-13 Dimebucker before this bullshit went down. So, yea, I jerk off to the new Dime signature guitars. But I also drive the fucking bandwagon, kid.

Electric Funeral does have a point. I mean, there are dicks out there who never ever listened to Pantera in their lives, and as soon as Dimebag died. They're all like "omg i miss Dimebag, Pantera were so good" I bet they couldn't even name a song. It's rediculous. I am neither for, not against what Electirc Funeral said. I don't really care either. Because Dimebag will be in my heart for ever. I can't say that I miss him, because I never got the chance to meet him, but as Pantera goes, even though they have parted, he is missed, because of what he contributed to Pantera.
