MOTÖRHEAD's LEMMY: 'Damage Case' Anthology Due Next Month

Sanctuary Records has set a February 6 release date for "Damage Case: The Lemmy Anthology", a unique career overview of the MOTÖRHEAD mainman Ian Fraser Kilmister — otherwise known as Lemmy. The two-CD compilation pulls together a wild and oft-unlikely range of tracks from right across his recording pantheon, kicking off in the '60s with the ROCKIN' VICARS and SAM GOPAL, and culminating in his collaboration with Dave Grohl on the PROBOT project in 2004. Included are some of Lemmy's extracurricular collaborations with other artists, such as when he teamed up with THE DAMNED to revive THE SWEET's "Ballroom Blitz", and later savaged the C&W weepie "Stand By Your Man", in the company of THE PLASMATICS' equally-winsome Wendy O. Williams. The JOHNNY KIDD rock 'n' roll classic "Please Don't Touch" was resurrected with the all-female GIRLSCHOOL — subsequently rewarding the aptly named HEADGIRL with a U.K. Top 5 hit. Alongside STRAYS CATS Slim Jim Phantom and Danny B. Harvey, Lemmy pays tribute to his rockabilly roots on "Big River", "Learning the Game" and "Matchbox" — although another CARL PERKINS number, "Blue Suede Shoes", comes in for rather more brutal treatment in the hands of Lemmy, THE UPSETTERS, and legendary PIRATES guitarist Mick Green. Lemmy and THE RAMONES may seem like another unlikely pairing, although he wrote and recorded "R.A.M.O.N.E.S." for and with them. Elsewhere, "Hellraiser" was written for the third in the series of horror movies of the same name, while METALLICA's "Enter Sandman" is another classic given the Lemmy treatment.
"Damage Case: The Anthology" was compiled in conjunction with Lemmy, and he also wrote the introductory sleeve-notes for the album. The track listing is as follows:

It seems the last thing the world needs is yet another motorhead compilation, however the inclusion of the early stuff with rockin' vicars and hawkwind is its saving grace. might be worth a purchase.

The song that Lemmy wrote for Ozzy is called Hellraiser. It appears on Ozzy's No more Tears album , And then Motorhead Covered it on their March or Die album.

Actually, Lemmy co-wrote or wrote a few songs for/with Ozzy. Also, check out "Ain't No Nice Guy" - it's a great duet with Ozzy and a kick ass song.
The Wendy O. Williams stuff is sweet. So is the Slim Jim stuff. Lemmy can do it all!!

Everyone should try to get a copy of Hawkwind's Space Ritual. It is a double live album with Lemmy on bass of the underground space rock legends. Best album ever

MOTORHEAD RULES!!!!
You MUST get the new DVD "Stage Fright".
It is an incredible performance by Motorhead, and also the DVD features set the standard for how a band should release a live DVD.

Another compilation with some "rare" songs! Goody-Goody gumdrops!!! Did'nt Lemmy and the Plasmatics do 3 songs? I've already got the Stand by your man track. Where can I to find the song D-I-V-O-R-C-E song? Not that I care that much, but it's just the principle of the thing. And I agree to the comment about Space Ritual. Heavy!! And Hawkwind's Hall of the Mountain Grill is absolutely coolo!
