RUSH Drummer To Appear In 'Aqua Teen Hunger Force' Movie

Last September, while on the SS Professor tour, Lorne Wheaton, RUSH drummer Neil Peart's tech, stated that Neil will be making an appearance on "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" sometime in the future. It turns out that Peart won't just be appearing in an episode, but in fact will appear in the big-screen movie coming later in 2006. In a recent interview with creators Matt Maeillaro and Dave Willis, Maeillaro stated, "We got Neil Peart to be in it. The drummer from RUSH. No, we didn't get Geddy Lee. We didn’t need him for this. We're waiting for the sequel for Geddy Lee," while Willis quipped, "We're done with Geddy Lee. Geddy Lee missed his opportunity. Now we'll put everyone in the movie, but Geddy Lee." I saw a video of Rush at a friends house recently and there was a washer and dryer on stage behind the band.
I guess it's kind of funny, but it's not very rock and roll at all. Of course, neither are Rush.

first of all, you can't say someone is "better" than anyone else- you can't compare peart to anyone else, because no one has his style or feel.
and jitalo, peart is by absolutely no means elementary to today's drummers- he was schooling their asses while they were sucking their mom's tits. he is a timeless drummer, and i agree, i didnt particularly care for much after moving pictures.
and Portnoy is too overdone, especially these past few years when they started hitting the mainstream, and he overplays. Peart is tasteful and varied; Portnoy does the same old shit.

Yeah, Portnoy is good, but for my money, I'll take Danny Carey any day of the week. He's almost as good as Peart in his prime and he doesn't overdo it. And he's about to prove it again.
